 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
Thanks for the info.
Tried the check out several times with more than enough to cover the cost in my paypal and keep getting a "Failed transaction" message. Ohh well, wasnt meant to be. I am over these little headache figures.
Maybe it was on my end but my order just went through.
Bryce I agree man, 400 plus. Idiots will always be among us in this industry, I saw the prices on them and flipped. I was even offered a set for not much less than that (as if it was kosher or something, yeah right pal) and didnt even respond to the message. Retail I'm cool with (maybe even a bit above), but more than double on a new release is a slap in the face and a joke to say the very least.

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
That sort of cracks me up that someone paid 400+ for this when you can get it at retail.

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
I feel like the reason why the troops were so cool from the get-go is kind of missing in these new sculpts...the plant one is ok...but I gotta see what these look like in production...

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
Really like the Mizaru-1 ape head, but not so sure about the lizard and plant heads. Interesting to see where they take this.

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
Starting to feel like Battle Beasts...which I loved as a kid. But these newer heads don't have the "retro" feel that the first two have...and possibly even the ape head. They're cool sculpts though, but I really liked the 50s sci-fi feel of the originals and these don't seem to capture it. Maybe paint will help though.

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
I finally got my Platoon this weekend and have to say I really love it...however, I am starting to get concerned about the Q.C. on these pieces, since the paint detailing on these is a little bit shoddy. (The eyes and teeth aren't really painted well, looks like it needed another coat.) Still, I think that these work best in a group, and this platoon really is a cool gathering of troops...the OG head still is the best IMO, as I am fearfull of pulling the helmet off the painted AstroZombies guys and f-ing up the paint job...it's a bit of a tight fit compared to the first head sculpt.
I think that the idea being floated around in this thread of having multiple pieces come with the troopers is a good one...I would love to have the option of switching the head or the arms out with different attachments...hopefully that happens as Toygraph makes more and more pieces in the future...

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
[I get a sense of nostalgia back to a lot of 80's toys I was into as a kid with RxH. He-Man and TMNT very much so, I wrote a whole rant about it once and compared them all in much more detail. [/quote] Sounds cool! Do you have a link to this?

I noticed this with the very first Space Trooper I got. The hand that holds the ray gun has overspray on it from the color of the gun. Still, that hasn't deterred me from really diggin' these little fellas!
