Some people are going to dislike the figure only because Shigeru made it, while some are going to love it for the same reason.

People are going to critique the shit out of anything Shigeru puts out now or in the future due to the history of the Boryoku Genjin, that is expected, so there's no point in crying about people being hyper critical. It doesn't matter what Shigeru came up with next, as long as we know who made it, none of us here will ever have an unbiased opinion as long as we've witnessed and contributed to the discussion on the hype behind the Boryoku Genjin. If Shigeru was to read the "negative" comments (I think those in defense of Shigeru are mistaking hyper critical analysis of the figure as pure negativity), he wouldn't really have the right to complain, as the issues most people have in regards to NagNagNag as an entity are a result of the sales and distribution method, which was a decision made by Shigeru, and Shigeru alone. This bitterness was bound to be carried along to the next thing brought on by Shigeru as long as he kept his current business model, which I assume is definitely the case with this figure. However, I doubt Shigeru really cares what we think, as his current business model, though I and many others don't agree with it, seems to be working just fine.

There's just too much cognitive dissonance around here. I think people don't know what they want anymore. Some people want the figure 'cause it's hot, others know their chance of scoring is probably going to be slim, so they're going to try to convince themselves that it's "not all that great," others are ashamed to want a figure strictly due to hype, so they attempt to assure themselves along with others that they "genuinely" like the figure, which may be true, but their "need" to have the figure is most likely fueled by the hype, at least to some extent. Like I said, and this relates to Blood's original statement, I don't think any of us here have an unbiased opinion, no matter what we try to make ourselves or others believe.

I think the only thread I ever hated on was the Kaws thread. I am a fan of Kaws but I think the toys he puts out are overpriced and overhyped

Especially for the fact that they are made in China and usually have a run of 500 pcs +

I wanted to display the new NZOMBIE without clothes because it's the sickest thing I've held and seen. Shig said he wants the buyer to be surprised if they buy one. He calls the reveal a secret for each owner to discover. And anyone who just buys and sells without opening will be bereft of the surprise. Pretty fucking zen. Shig is at the MISHKA booth. I watched him bag up his toys and talk aboutthe process. He truly is a zen punk master when it comes to making toys.
