Holy crap!
One thing though, it just takes 2 bidders to drive the prices to stupid heights. It's really no different than Ebay or YJA.
I think people have a comfort level buying from an established auction house- although I know for a fact that it's possible to buy a fake, damaged, or cropped work from an auction house and be stuck with it- just like Ebay.
