as many as I can, there's usually one a month or so. There'S a SuperFestival in Osaka this coming weekend but I can't make it down there. Also a sofubi only event on Dec 23, which I'll also miss due to Xmas travels.

In all seriousness though, just looked through the above link and can see why everyone is clamouring for RealHead. Wow. Some great great sculpts. Got to be one of the best outfits going around. I usually only like bits and pieces from the different producers, but like most if not all of what I am seeing from RealHead. Hope we see it a little more available soon.

I like how so many of the real head stuff is essentially a self portrait.

Seems like a lot of people are really split on Real Heads first figure. Some people like me dig it, others.. not so much. For me it was the cross over figure that got me interested in Indie Sofubi. I was into Urban Vinyl which is fairly 'dude-based' and this dude caught my eye.

It's not my favorite design of his, but it is rather unique in a comical sort of way. I think the designs from the Mutant series are much more compelling...

It is also a contraction of "sofuto" (soft) and the Japanese phonetic term for vinyl, "biniiru," hence the term sofubi. When referring to plastic shopping bags, they are typically called "biniiru fukuro" ---kind of a strangely specific term for referring to a generic item (often probably not even made of vinyl).

I realize that you know the word etymology, Sub, but I thought I would further flesh it out for Moriachi's sake.

Looks like that crazy new RealXHead that Ramos showed us awhile ago materialized finally with a wicked iridescent spray to match the bubbly weirdness of the sculpt. Sounds like they glued a doll's eye onto it as well.

This is one of the coolest '05 vinyls, IMO. The other is Hipporito Seijin.
