 Re: Who's idea . . .
this picture sucks.... but I BET this colorway in-hand is ultra-coolio.... as we have found, mad barbarians cannot be judged on pics alone.... i'd like to get one.... datadub wrote: Ouch regardless of your opinion on the sculpt or color that is one terrible picture. where the hell is that from?
This is a Mad Barbs colorway and is dropping at the One Up booth in Taipei. This figure is NOT FLOCKED. The purple is pearlescent. The yellow vinyl is also quite nice. :

Mad barbs are pretty popular in taiwan - where they still say Real x Who? - where this is to be sold. this is probably the smallest edition so far of this figure. I thought he was being sarcastic... There just better be more than 50 of them kid cat figures... StandardBBS etiquette - all sarcasm should be in purplefor example: The kid cat figure is just a one-offah, note taken

 Re: Who's idea . . .
This is actually one of my favorite Real Head sculpts alonge with Vader and Chaos. But this color is not looking good. Hopefully it doesn't turn people away from the sculpt. I'd like to see alot more colorways.

Absolutely hate it. It looks like some BAPE crap, or some other hipster rap baby clothes color scheme.

Errrr... is this really a case of "either/or"? Seems like a "neither" could be perfectly appropriate...

I don't think its flocked. I think the photo is just weird. I like this because its colors are off-putting. Still I think I'll only ever own the kikaida version of this.

Put me down as a fan. it appears to be 99% Mad Barbarian and 1% RxH though. Which is a bonus.

 Re: Who's idea . . .
Don't most of the toy companies bring some criticism or controversy with certain figures?
Gargamel 2008 lucky bag items Secret Base King Skull Brain or the Japanese Spirits or the drip customs etc
The primary colourway just immediately reminded me of this figure.

Its either hate RxH or accept constant disappointment and paying $200 for something you know a local got for $60 just to flip. Hating Rxh is kind of the only sane reaction unless the people who "were enjoying RxH" get their access to it restored which isn't likely to happen.

 Re: Who's idea . . .
There might also be a band analogy too. One likes a small band that plays at small venues and few people know about or appreciate. When they start headlining stadiums, or appearing in Time magazine, some people feel that they sold out and stop following them.
Not saying that I feel this way...

Not saying that I feel this way... The sort of explanation that's connected to the word 'elite'.

 Re: Who's idea . . .
Band or toy, it's the hype that's REALLY hated, not the subject (usually.) Like "I hate all these new fans" or "I hate how big it got, not worth it anymore." I think that's the mentality in a lot of cases.
I love RxH stuff, but have decided to cut back and soak in other stuff, it's too nuts now and just turning me off. I love the toys/company, just not the static surrounding it.

 Re: Who's idea . . .
Well put, BD. I don't think there's much relief in terms of hype/static coming anytime soon. Releases lately have been very cool. Bright colored vinyl, rub paint techniques, bubble vinyl and paint sprays continue to rock (yellow Jinja excluded).....all of which continue to attract more fans. I think that even Hone Borg might be getting some play....
