Mentioned before, and kudos to Hank for the reminder; A mixed part zag would rule - readilly available so one could make up various solid colors with some chase GID parts. How awesome would that be?

Not sure. It came from the Gargamel blog, so I assume it was one them.
Bwana shipped straight to Roto, so I don't think it's his. Doesn't look like a Bwana custom anyway.

I'd love to see that. Simple muted colors. So rad and easy to do.

I always thought random parts would be a cool bonus for a set. Like buy a Gargamess and get a random Zag arm, then after enough you haev a bunch of parts to smash together. It'd be like the Marvel toys that came with Galactus parts.

I love Gargamel for that, the multi-part-mixing ability. I mean a lot of vinyl figures can interchange and all, but it really seems to work best for Gargamel.

That must be tough for you to look at Mark, those Zags in the back have got my heartrate up but those Miboras just look insane especially the three on the far right, actually everything on the right side of that picture

To me 1-offs by the creator of the toy or someone who's involved with the company are different then just random customs. I know, it's a POV I don't think everyone shares but I'm fine with that. I also think they're cool in a sense of just getting 1 or 2 in your collection. People who are rich or lucky enough (is that taboo? whatever, if you can fly to all these cities around the globe and afford $300-$500 toys each time or have someone buy them for you at that price so frequently then I'm considering you rich or 'well to do' or deep in debt maybe and that's not hating, I wish I was as well off!) to afford a whole collection of these are super lucky and all, but for the average collector I think 1-2 are a fine amount. I think that's part of why Gargamel does so many, they're trying to get at least 1 HP figure into the hands of all their fans, not to shove a bunch of expensive toys out there to "bank" on.

That still means they need to crank out the production pieces, but they used to do less a year anyway.

The new Deathra seems awesome to me, the new full sized Zag isn't my thing but after the large amount of color's of Zags they've done at this point it must be tough to decide what to do next and at the same time realize it's not for everyone.

Then we have the case of flooding the market with "normal" releases that no one buys. That GID Bakos is awesome but it's still sitting around most webstores. It's not like they're flying off the shelves. What would you do? You're a toy company, your normal releases aren't moving as fast but HP figures are selling for premium prices and you need to make a living. They help promote the normal releases and at the same time give these guys some "art cred" for being so talented at this.

I totally agree with the above comments! As a big zag collector all i ever wanted was to fill a shelf of favourites and also have 2-3 customs to differentiate my horde from the rest of gargamel collectors. In saying this i cannot understand being completist for the sake of being complete. the buzz cola zag for example looks horrible imo and it would not be something i would ever go after along with a handful of much easier to obtain regular releases. The fact that gargamel keeps putting out beautiful and interesting one offs gives me hope, I know if i miss something i like another one off will turn up around the corner at the next event.

Like the HMV Zag, it might be nicer without the branding but GID and black . . . what's not to love! :D

branding or no branding, but Coca~Cola > HMV, and YES Black/GID rules. Besides it's not like it says Coca~Cola. I think it's a cool flame design.

it's the branding :) i would definitely feel differently about it if it was flameless.. same with the hmv.
it's strange i spend my days creating brands but i cant stand heavily branded products.

Exactly. Missing a score of a one off that is completely awesome is alot easier to take too, because you know that only one person has it and there will always be more. If I miss a 1-off that I really wanted I just then appreciate that I got to atleast see a picture of a really amazing piece.

Really bummed that the show is during the Holidays. It's either gifts for the family or myself.

As much as I love the Zag and Mibora customs, that Hedo Bros set has got to be my favorite customs out of the bunch.
