I agree as of now it's not very NAGish. But I'm willing to bet this is part of a larger picture, or I'm hoping.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
It's different for sure...but it reminds of some of the stuff exohead does. (They posted up the zombie and some other really cool toys that displayed ultra-detailed sculpting technique. They were both VERY different but both amazing in their own way.) examples: This seems in the same vein as the godzilla/barom 1 toy that he did for Joel. Different but equally amazing. I don't know...I look at the testshot/zombie thing and love the eye and mouth detail. I'm curious to see the full detail and think it'd be great to see something completely different.

Zombie sculpt is freaking SICK! Just wait. Nag style to the max when whole sculpt is revealed. Next level shit.

The zombie will be closer to the Nag balls in detail and crazy paint application.

I honestly think that the zombie rules, really awesome sculpt with a lot of detail. Not what I would expect, and for that I like it more. Lucio Fulci would be in love with this toy!

The Test Shot thing rules. Fits in perfectly with all the other NagNagNag toys. Fucked up , but just enough that it's awesome.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Well, this is just another zombie... Zombies are fun, but... you don't need any kind of inspiration to do a zombie, even though the scultp seems nice. Reminds me of my local bookshop with these shelves full of zombie comic books... How fashionable this is !
Waiting to see the full figure before my final word about this.

Are zombies usually covered with maggots? Looks to me more like a corpse.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
It looks like the corpse from every horror movie ever made, the nag has a cartoon like charm, this just says poor special effects from America... Who here would pay 400 for it if it was some guy from Kentucky sculpting it, and not Shigeru? How about this for a new hype name, boringboringboring.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
I think you nailed it. It looks like a cheesy Halloween prop from the local party supply store. I'm not saying I dislike it... I like cheesy horror shit. But I definitely wouldn't pay Nag prices for it. Maybe this zombie head is actually the hyper detailed big-toe of a larger monster, and much more is in store than this photo reveals. Doubt it. But LS's post definitely has me curious. slipstar01 wrote: It looks like the corpse from every horror movie ever made, the nag has a cartoon like charm, this just says poor special effects from America... Seeing there is no articulation at the neck has me thinking this isn't the head, but part of somthing else.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
I love collecting Bemon, nag, and other toys of this kind .. but I can not think that the authors of them are in possession of great skills in sculpture. maybe I like them for their "ignorance" of sculpture. their figures seem jobs of children at first odd to experiment with paper mache .... but that's the beauty! Indeed, this Zomby I do not like, he lost that ignorance which I appreciate.

Re: A Nag Pa I Root
Even if it's an Omake, that means there's a large version that's going to pop it's head out somewhere, Coop said it would be akin to the Nagballs in Detail, so that tells me what we're seeing is a good indicator of what's to come... Quote: dedoperucelli wrote: maybe I like them for their "ignorance" of sculpture. their figures seem jobs of children at first odd to experiment with paper mache .... but that's the beauty! Indeed, this Zomby I do not like, he lost that ignorance which I appreciate. This is the same reason, I get off on Butanohana, and don't care if I ever kiss a Bandai... The toys were originally purposefully made not to look realistic, so to not scare the kids that played with them, I like that aesthetic. Some people think the Nag is gross, I think it has a "cute" childlike vibe to him, (much like Bemon), this new beast does not... I understand that artist's want to revise, and not become stale in their work, but as LS said, "this is some next level shit" and I was much happier without the upgrade... Personally, I would have thought Next level shit would have been a production Nag, so everyone that wanted one could have that option. I guess I ran out of quarters, game over, Oh well, I like Primal Rage better anyway.
