Up now at KT - they call it "omlette' version, but I think it's the latest superfestival (if you missed it last Saturday and want it bad enough to pay EMS plus their paypal fee).

They charge like 1,000 yen for Paypal and handling fee and another 3,600 yen for EMS! That's quite a bit for a practically weightless vinyl toy...

EDIT: I still like KT, but they are expensive!

you can ask them nicely to hold it for a little while if you're going to order something else. they're pretty cool about that stuff. their EMS rates must have gone up since the last time i ordered from them...

I don't know if EMS rates were raised recently, but Kaiju-Taro has been charging much higher prices for shipping & paypal lately. Ouch.

The shipping has almost been more than the actual items I get from them. I agree something has changed.

Weird! I had the same experience as LASH. I think I bought something that was about $37.00 ... shipping etc. came to about $31.00. Not fun. I'm cutting back on my "marking" list because of this. Darn shame, I still appreciate KT, but unless it's a must-have I'm backing off.

Also surprised at some of their recent base prices e.g. Kaijin Blobpus for $130 ?? - That's considerably more than a full-sized regular Blobpus. I don't get it. Usually they just add approx. 1,000 yen to the JP retail price of things.

I just got the docross and the mini docross superfestival and shipping came to around 30 dollars, not too bad.

Agreed for that package. It's when you pay 30 shipping/paypal for some smaller item that cost 15 - 40 that it really hurts. In my opinion the mini was overpriced but nevertheless I think it's really cool that you got both. If you have the "Sunglow" blobpi and blobpus, the colorways will match. Congrats on the great score! :-)

Yeh i'm pretty stoked. The gold paint on the skulls make it jump out. How tall do you think the large docross will be and how many of each were made?

I know what you guys mean about shipping though. Even international shipping from US to Canada i paid a 40 dollar brokerage fee and 10 dollars in taxes on a 100 dollar package, that's half the price! bah.

So far as I'm aware Blobpus doesn't release edition numbers, although some veteran members have suggested that most of their releases are in editions less than 30.

Until very recently, the Docross has been the least popular of the Blobpus figures. It seems to be catching fire now that Blobpus is attracting more fans, and now that there are a few colorways out. In any case my guess would be that the "30 or less" number would be accurate.

I don't have one but based on photos where it's next to other figures, it looks to be approx. 9 - 10 " tall.

For some reason I thought they were both minis.. I know 12,000 yen is a lot for a mini, but so is 7,800.

I thought it was just me...
Ive just scored the red Ichibanboshi from KT and its cost me £60.00
Thats like $120.00
And i know i will get hit again for another £30.00 from customs cos man they are hot on ems parcels here...Or so it seems.
So all in all this figure will cost me $180.00
Is that fair?
Is it fuck.
Compared to when i bought both the Dokugan and Last Kaiju Blobpus there at the begining of the year and i got both plus a load of paint which set me back just $200.00
So.....
Its killing my passion..WELL!.Not really but i tell you i will not be buying any more from KT.
I think!............

Wow Monstens, that does suck. On the other hand, you have that red metallic Ichibanboshi, which not many of us were lucky enough to score.

What I'm curious to figure out (but haven't bothered yet) is how much of this increase is or isn't KT's doing. If EMS rates just went up, not much they can do about that. Same with PayPal rates ... they cumulatively make a dent in any business' profit, and KT has to make a profit to survive, to state the obvious. If they've raised their rates to keep doing what they're doing, then I can't argue much. They're the only venue for some items without resorting to iffy auctions. Still ... I don't see much point in buying those inexpensive Sunguts items or various minis if the shipping is going to cost as much or more than the toy. Better to batch items to save on shipping, as Celga users do.

I could almost swear that "Commie" Ichibanboshi was released in time for today ... May Day. :-) I love mine and hope that when you receive yours, the pain of the extra charges will be minimalized by the pleasure of adding it to your collection.

Yeah, I just cancelled a "marking service" offer for the same reason. I felt really guilty about it as I consider KT a real gem and want to support them, and don't want to lose their trust, but ... gotta be realistic. Thanks for the advice about requesting "gift item" designation. I'll try that next time.

I agree with you whole heartedly and will be sitting in front of KT as i do day in day out waiting for their next batch
KT are exellent and i didnt mean to dis them.I love that store :)
If i was to set of to Japan it would cost me a much bigger fortune than what the shipping and paypal fees cost so really im not that unhappy...Plus man Like you said i scored the red Ich!!! So when it arrives i will be sooo happy and the cost will be long forgotten :)
Fuck it. Money is pointless and Toys are my life so..
Also i have to say EMS are the best postal service around and always arrives sooooo fast. and KT packing is superb :)
As for celga....Well that is something im exploring now :)
But i will still be sitting in front of KT every day :)

Ive asked twice for the parcel to be sent as a lower value and as a gift but to no avail! And i was ever so sweet in asking !
:?

What are these duties about anyway? They charge £30.00 £15 of which is VAT and the other £15 is for parcel force as a handling charge....!!! Its all a scam if you ask me  But hey.....Toys need good homes!

yes,,,one time i had something sent (not from KT) which was only worth 6000yen (i.e. £25)...

and it was not marked as a "gift"....

i had to pay £17 to parcel force for duties...

£5 of which was the actual VAT....

£12 was the parcel force "handling charge"!!!!! complete scam...
