Post Skull Toys Checklist
Image
I think Skull Toys don't get enough love. They are definitely some of my favorite toys, and while trying to collect them all, I decided to make a list that others might like to see. Observe:

SKULL TOYS
    DOKU-ROCKS
    Black Stream
    Cronic (Patchi Summit 42 Exclusive)
Go! Go! Star Man (Solid Clear)
    GWD (WHF 16 Exclusive)
Lucky Bag - Black + Multicolor Spray
Lucky Bag - Black + Silver Spray
    Lucky Bag - Solid Black
    Lucky Bag - Solid Pink
    Lucky Bag - Solid Silver
    Lucky Bag - Solid Yellow
    Nancy
Nise ("Fake" with Tinsel Innards) (Patchi Summit 42 Exclusive)
    Sid
Star Man a Go! Go! (Solid GID)
    Super7
    King Walder Set (3x Doku-Rocks)
    GATCHAMON BABY-ROCKS
    Bone*
    Clear Red
    Green
    King Walder
    SKULL KING
    Black Riot!
Go! Go! Star Man (Solid Clear)
    GWD (WHF 16 Exclusive)
Lucky Bag - Black + Green Spray
Lucky Bag - Red + Black Spray
Lucky Bag - Solid Clear Black
Lucky Bag - Solid Clear Orange
    Lucky Bag - Solid Black
    Lucky Bag - Solid Yellow
Nancy (No. 005 / Super Festival 39 Exclusive)
    Popsoda
    Purple Haze
    S...I...T...H... (No. 007 / WCC 22 Exclusive)
Sid (No. 00? / Super Festival 39 Exclusive)
Solid Pink (No. 00? / First Release)
    Super7 (No. 009 / SDCC 2006 Exclusive)
SKULL TOYS x EXOHEAD
    SKULL REX
    Type-E Bolan
    Type-S Marc
    Type-S2 Boogie
* Unknown name
** Unknown if was ever sold at retail

Am I missing any?

There are also other Skull Toys toys that I have seen via the blog. I'm guessing, judging by pictures, that these are extra heads for Henshin Cyborgs. Anyone know anything about them? \":?:\" \"\"

Is the World Hobby Festival Doku-Rocks on the list? I saw one on YJA and it was bin'd almost instantly. I wish I would have saved the pic.

That's a good list!

I'll help you out with the names:

Black + Gold (Tinsel Innards) = Nise Dokurocks (i.e., "Fake" Dokurocks)

Bone Gachamon = Baby Rocks (same name for the Walder colors ver. too, I think)

Thanks a lot, akum6n. I've updated the list accordingly. I wonder, is the "Bone" Baby-Rocks maybe called Type-S2 Boogie in accordance with the Skull Rex?

I'm not sure which one that is -- Is it recent? If so, it's probably on the list. I've found out the name of many of the releases, but not what particular fest they are from. I would like to add that info. gradually after the list is complete.

Any detailed info. on the lucky bag goodies, anyone?

It looks like it is the GWD version I was talking about.

Great thread! I love the Doku-Rocks and am trying to acquire a taste for the Skull Kings. They are certainly impressive in person.

Can someone who knows comment on calling the Doku-Rocks that as opposed to Doku-Rokkusu? Is one more "correct" than the other? I had been under the (evidently false) impression that they were called "Rocks" at a certain point as sort of a pun on the Japanese ... as the toys do rock, and on the same general general principle as calling colorways Sid and Nancy. I realized I was assuming more than knowing.

I'm really not sure. On the packaging of the 12" toys, the labels read "DOKU-ROCKS" so there's a bit of confusion between the packaging and how toys are referred to.

I have started adding release dates to the toys, if I can find it. If anyone has any of this info. and knows it to be genuine, please let me know and I will make the updates.

You missed the very first Skulltoys suit which is unpainted pink. "Paint-it!!! Pink!!!" or something it's called. What is the difference between the Clear and the GoGo Starman Clear? I only know of the GoGo Starman clear suit.
There is a number of '07 lucky bag suits and minis too. Red, Yellow, Green and Black (at least for the suits) some with paint, others without.
And the GID suit just released on the weekend.
The Pop Soda release pissed me off, so I haven't bothered too much since, but I think the release went:

Pink
Black with silver
Clear GoGo Starman
Purple Haze
Sid
Nancy
S.I.T.H
Popsoda
Super 7

Haven't bothered with the minis at all.

As far as names for the lines, I'm not sure myself. Doku Rocks has been used on the backs of the suit headers since day one. Never heard the suits referred to as Skull King, but you never know.

I always assumed that Doku-rocks (or "Do-ku-ro-kku-su" in Japanese) is a reference to the Dokuro King of Henshin Cyborg fame, whose name means "Skull King" when translated.

I've updated the list quite a bit. Most notable additions are that of the lucky bag stuff. A lucky (har har) board member here has a few of them and sent me pics. Holy shit I want those so bad.

moriachi -- Thanks a lot for the info. There's no difference between the clear versions, it is just named "Go! Go! Star Man" officially. I made a mistake on listing it twice.

Now, does anyone have the Sid, Nancy, etc. 12" versions and can tell me the release No. as well as its release event? That would be totally awesome and fill out the list even more. If not, I will try finding the info. from the Skull Toys blog.

Not really a "release" so to speak, but there was also an unpainted clear orange test mini on YJA recently. And straight to hell with whomever outbid me! :D

I believe the tinsel and Cronic were the Patchi releases while the GWD release was the most recent WHF release.

I thought that was the case. Which Patchi Summit and which WHF were they from exactly?

I think the list is pretty accurate so far -- just missing some of the fest exclusive info.

I'm going to work on some sort of image table for all of the releases.

very cool to see it all visually. i missed out on many minis... I didn't find the time to collect them all when they came out. i hope this thread is an inspiration to start on other brands who are lesser known but growing in popularity. it'll only lead to positive results.

Indeed, nicely put. I'm glad people are digging it. Since there have been requests for pictures, do you mind if I use the ones you've taken? I wanted to ask before just snatching them. Anyone else who happens to have the Lucky Bag or more rare stuff, please don't hesitate to send me pictures of them. Credit where credit is due.

If I was looking on YJA what would I type to find these guys? Exohead too, I just type in English Exohead or Skull Toys and don't get much back. Are there characters for those companies or are there just not much on YJA?

Unfortunately there is just not much on YJA...Not that I know exactly, but I would say about 5 exohead figures (excluding "boogie") have showed up in the past year.
