 New guy
Hey guys! New dude from Brazil here.
Some very nice folks at the Kidrobot board told me to check out this site when I asked about more info on bwana's killer... and here I am.
I don't know if you guys usually do these "new guy" sort of posts, but what the hell.
I like vinyl "designer toys" (though I hate that name) and I'm a fan of kaiju too, but definitely not as hardcore as most of you here. I love the art of biskup, bwana, baseman and also other artists whose name doesn't start with a b.
So, I guess that's it. cheers!

Thanks for the welcome doods!
jebcrow - tell me about it... it's especially hard when customs taxes packages! You guys from Europe have this problem too, no?
xoconostle - I wish! I'm amazed by the knowledge of some of you folks here..
redhanded - haha, holy crap dude, how did you find the first link? It was so bad, it was awesome. And the second link... it's not Brazilian, it's an actual Japanese show! It was called Jaspion, and it was HUGE around these parts. It didn't do very well in its home country, though...
andy - ha! If my memory serves right, Vlix warmed pegs when I was a kid... who would've thought eh? Did you guys get the other Droids figures at least?
liquidsky - didn't know it was also a name for a species of snake... guess you learn something new every day. I took the name from a figure I have, since I have zero creativity for board names: http://www.hottoys.com.hk/product.php?cat=13&pid=210
cheers!

Copperhead DC villain? Not familiar with him...
Yup, big 1/6 fan. 1/6 figures and vinyl are pretty much all I collect these days... both equally expensive
I like the RAHs too (love my RAH Kanegon!) - Medicom has better licenses, IMO, than Hot Toys - but when it comes to craftsmanship and overral quality, Hot Toys (and Brothersfree) rules all.

Awesome, it's tough to juggle the 2, I know. 1 month I'll be all vinyl, next I'll get me some Spidey RAH or some crap, it's a tough balance.
Here's Copperhead the DC villain

Yeah, right... I saw an action figure of that guy in the store the other day! It was one of those animated-looking figures... JLU, right?
Did you get the new Spiderman 3 RAHs? I'm still debating if I should get SPidey or not, but I'm probably better off spending that money in kaiju

The only Spidey 3 RAH worth it is the Symbiote suited one, the others look kind of off. I've seen a lot of in hand pics from friends, and the outfits aren't very flexible, the webbing is the wrong color, but from what I understand Marvel approved the toys months and months ago and all Medicom had to work with was prototypes of the design, and I guess when Marvel approves something, there's no going back and changing it, even for the better. But if you have the comic versions, no need for the film ones I say.
I'd spend that cash on vinyl for sure

yes,,,UK customs are pure evil ,,,you are best off requesting everything sent to you as a "gift"....
where in brazil are you based?? i went to rio last year & had a great time shopping around,,,found some great 70s style mini-television toys at this market...also lotsa good records to be found....and a few "fica" fists....
i imagine outlets for kaiju or "designer toys" are few or possibly non-existant,,even in sao paolo....

hey jeb!
I'm im São Paulo... I'm kind embarrassed to say, but I've never been to Rio. Beatiful city though, and it's a shame that there's so many violence going on there.
Yeah, those type of stores, like you said, are pretty much non-existant. A new store has just opened up in São Paulo, but I haven't visited there yet. But I doubt buying there will be cheaper than buying online.

If I'm not mistaken, all the other Droids figures were sold in the US. I was at Star Wars Celebration II (yep, serious geek here) a few years ago, and famous toy dealer Tom Derby (i'm sure Flynn knows who Derby is) had TWO carded Vlix at his booth. Nice pile of Benjamins there.
