I was just going to post about this one...now I see that somebody probably from here is trying to get it. The first bid level would have been an awesome price. Now it is creeping up there. Still a ton of figures though!

Instead of the "lucky bag" deal, this is the mondo "lucky box!"

I thought about trying to get a coalition to go in on it and divvy it up, but it appears that maybe somebody has already implemented that idea. Who is the mystery Celga bidder?

Holy shit! I hope someone on here gets it. The best pieces are probably on top. If a board member wins this they better post pics.

Ditto, the problem, of course, is the "who gets the what".

I would assume who ever fronts the creditcard would get 1st picks. But then do it round robin i.e. each person picks one and then it goes around again?

Surely there must be a number of equitable ways to parse it up. The only problem is whether or not the price is going to reach a point at which it doesn't seem like as much of a 'deal.'

if you think about it $3600.00 is $30.00 each so that is still a deal!!!!!! anyway there is a reserve on it. that is why it doesn't show who the bidder is on the front page.

I was wondering if that is why the high bidder doesn't show on the front page. Now it makes more sense. Curious as to what the reserve is set at...

Maybe you can contact the seller somehow and ask for a list of what's in the box.

I get the impression that they aren't very proactive about it (although obviously they might be if somebody inquired). They only counted the number of pieces and wrote an addendum note at the bottom of the auction page the next day after it was listed. At first they were just auctioning it off as a big box of uncounted figures! Nuts.

But still remember that the fee on a $3600 auction purchase is going to surpass $500 with most agents, and then shipping/insurance for a box of this size/value will also probably run a bit on the high side. On a US delivery, I wonder if the red flags go up because of a high declared value and suddenly you are paying the same import tax as a commerical toy importer/vendor...

Just looking at what's on top has peaked my interest. This is only the second time I've even seen an FC damage.

I'd be happy to ask them about the box contents but to be honest I have zero idea of how to go about doing it.

Those are all very good questions...

Who do we know that's recently bought something worth thousands of dollars from Japan....hmmm.....Mr. Kozik, any thoughts?

If you could find 12 people each willing to throw in say 500 bucks you'd have more than enough to cover the fee and insurance...maybe? That would mean 10 figures for each person. There could be payments via pay pal so that the person doing the bidding isn't left with a bill unpaid.

Of course then there is the shipping to each person...logistics sucks.

theres no import duty on plastic toys.

if, in fact there are 120 pieces..well 4 grand is a way good price.

I could buy this, but if theres no stuff I need the effort to re sell it is not worth it.

maybe 8 of you should chip in 500 each and then split it.

ill pay top dollar for any of the ones I need of they are in there

I would galdly chip in $500. I shouldn't, my girlfriend will probably murder me for it. But in the long run $500 for that many is worth it.

Unless of course 100 of them are Honey Bees... :x

I can say with pretty good authority that this auction will at least hit wholesale price minimums per figure which is roughly 3600. After that, who knows, the seller would probably have better luck selling it as smaller groups.
