 Prices
I've only been obsessed with RxH for maybe 2 weeks now and I'm surprised at how high some prices are. Can some of you experts chime in on what the going prices are that I can expect to pay on the various Heads, Evils and Chaos?
thanks

what are the special editions? the 1 offs? The only one I've been offered for $80 is that blue Head by a couple different people. Even the green Chaos should only be $80?

RealxHead is possibly the most limited toy brand around, most runs are under 50 many under 10.
They are expensive to start with, $75 at retail from Super7.
The evil and chaos are the most popular figures.
$150 is only 2x retail which is about the normal mark up for limited figures.

$150 seems about right once they've been out for a while. You'll struggle to get any for around 80 unless you get them at retail.

Super 7 is working on an article but I really don't think anyone knows the run numbers (even Brian). RxH and SB just don't care about run numbers.

i'm kinda glad it's like that too. Too many people just buy stuff because it's limited.

The problem is if you're buying it to resell at a profit. Is it just me or does it seem like this board has become more obsessed with prices, edition sizes, etc lately?

I don't think the "board" has a problem w/the edition sizes and run #s..It's the new influx of peeps that are accustomed to dealing w/figs that way are trying to use it for reference..It falls on us veterans to explain to them these JP companies DO NOT usually release #s and run sizes so just get used to it..It will all make sense w/a lil experiecne under their belts...

Yiminy, are you suggesting I'm buying RxH to resell and profit on?

i think it's uncomfortable to be completely ignorant to run #'s, availability and random pricing...i don't mean "ignorant" in a mean sense but it's just plain hard to know...i find it hard to believe that makers "don't care about run #'s"...i think they DO care about run #'s...they just don't care for telling YOU about run #'s...
"buy what you like" regardless of price to a newcomer is a tad bit naive. i know just a LITTLE about SB for instance and call me crazy but if the pricing is above retail and i have NO CLUE WHY - that makes me uncomfortable...i'm not made of money and "i like" a lot of stuff.
and you know what else? in lots of cases the seller doesn't always know why the pieces they're selling are "above retail"...makes no sense.
i say investigate...use your head - unsure run #'s is "the new hype" in a way. i for one would be BUMMED if the wood kaws i just purchased for $650 suddenly flooded the market...i'd feel more than taken advantage of - like i should.
and you're all lying if you say that edition sizes don't matter to you...if there were 30,000 available i bet you all $100 you wouldn't just be "buying what you like" at unstable prices.
the horse gets unbelivably taller.

I would be made up if there was 30,000! Then I could actually find some of the SB stuff I want young, black&angry wrote: the horse gets unbelivably taller.

You definitely seem to be a serious collector and contributor.

I can't let this one go ! Even though this has come up time after time it does indicate that there is a concern out there that at any moment SB or any of the other toy producers out there will be inclined to FLOOD the market with thier vinyls. I think everyone collecting would have to admit if this did happen no one collecting rite NOW would be very happy. With the high prices we are willing to pay out due to availability I really don't think it is in the interests of co's like SB,RxH,Gargamel and many others to over produce ! I think in the end they would loose out because desire would surely wane and prices would plummet. NUMBER one - COLLECT WHAT YOU LIKE ! If you collect strictly for profit I believe in the end you will get burned ! That said, it surely could not hurt to have a bit more information on production run's for hardcore collectors. I think that will be the ONLY way to once and for all lay this issue to rest. Whew!!!
Can I have a gin & tonic PLEASE !

Shape - first off that has always been my philosophy when I had my store. I tried to impart it to all my customers and I am sure I lost a few when I said - if you want an investment, play the stock market. You want to collect and ENJOY what you collect then just buy what you want and like. If you don't you will be very sorry tomorrow. Example - look at all the Star Wars geeks out there that paid through the nose for all the re-issue figures and such. OR another prime example is the Comic market of the early to late 90's. All inflated prices and now you can't give that stuff aay as toilet paper. This is all stuff we have gone over before in other threads and are just rehashing it again. If you don't wantto pay for something - then don't. If you've been looking for it and it is available for a price buy it.
And Shape - secondly - it's only 9:00 am - too early for a cocktail!
Oh one more bit of collector knowledge I'd like to impart - if you see it and have been looking for it, BUY IT - becasue when you go back you know it is going ot be gone and you will kick yourself in the head for not buying it. Happened all the time in the store. Snooze you loose!

I don't care if they don't tell us the numbers when they initially go on sale. It is actually refreshing to make the choice without knowing the numbers. However, I am a collector and even at retail these figure cost a lot. They should tell us at some point

I agree with mostly whats been said.
Would be funny to see which of the white day ghostfighters would have sold quicker if no-one knew which was the limited version.
I have to settle up the price i'm paying in my head first (second with the wife ) as I realise that I won't getting that money back. I've no intention to sell (and have only sold duplicates of SB) and I can't see the prices being maintained in 10 years time.
