Post Black Flocked Skull Brain
I was hoping some of yous could give me a little more info on the Black Flock Brain. I just picked one up over the weekend. I know one ended on the bay for about $200 - is that really a ballpark figure of their market value? If so I just got a tremendous deal!
Also, the shop that sold it to me said it was some sort of convention exclusive or something like that - is that why the packaging is so different?
Anyway, any info you can give me on this would be great - it's my 1st Brain and I LOVE it!

To be honest I thought that one on ebay ended really high. I don't think it should have gone for anything close to the FC Damage Brain...But who knows nowadays? It is a cool figure though so enjoy!!

Cool, thanks! Anyone know why it's on a card instead of bagged? Are there other SB figs that are on cards?

Probably just different packaging because they were special anniversary figures, I have no idea if there are more like that, I haven't seen any. There have been lots of different kinds of packaging like boxes and pumpkins and cans though.

same release, a mantis and a bee all black flocked in the card. I was so excited about these when released because it was the first SB toy not bagged.

You got it at Billys for $70.00? Saw a few weeks ago but passed - I already had it. Got mine off the Bay a few months ago for like $40.00?? But had to pay S&H from WAY overseas (Singapore?).

You got it for a decent price.

If by Billy you mean Moshi Moshi then yes! (Also picked up a painting by Martin from his show!)
I figured $70 was a good price - I never see SB stuff for much less (though I don't hunt like you guys do). I'm really restricting myself when it comes to price - don't think I'll ever go past $100 for anything. Gotta keep spending in check and it'll also help keep my collection in control.

$200 for the black flocked skullbrain! That's insane! For a long while the bubble carded 3rd anniversarry releases were scarilly easy to get, and corespondingly cheap - great figures though...NEARLY as coll as the flocked Phantom and Bee suits...nearly.....

Cool - I missed the show. Am a huge Martin fan! I probably own the Largest piece he has done - a 4" x 8" mural on a sheet of bath board - he did it for my old store. Love it!

I remember the sandwich board he designed for your store - don't remember the mural though. I guess there was too much other stuff to look at! Got any pics you can post?
Anyway, if you get the chance I'd check out Martin's show. Really great stuff - kinda demon themed. I'm hoping to buy a 2nd painting, but right now we really can't afford it. I'm just happy to have our first M.Ontiveros painting!

NT - if you walked in the main part of the store and looked straight up there was a HUGE painting of a Robot breaking through the ceiling. I will see if I can take a pic of it. I have it in storage right now as I don't have a wall big enough for it in my house.

Welcome to the wild wonderful world of Martin Art. I have like 4 or 5 pieces. And he owes me some he is still coloring.. Oh and my sidewalk sign.
