Info on Alien Shaply (aka Alien Shapure)?
Here is another figure I would like to try to find background information on. Again, the seller provided me some information, but it has really not led me anywhere.
The seller indicated that the name of the figure was "Alien Shaply (Shapure)" and that he was an Ultraseven foe. The figure obviously has something to do with Bullmark, given the imprint on the back.
Can anyone read the other information on the back and/or on the shoe?
Anyone know anything else about this figure? Looking for these guys on the internet often seems to lead to dead ends - my guess is because the spellings are not quite right somehow.
Here are the pics:

The inscription on the foot indeed reads, "Shapure."

I think his name is actually "Microphone Phallus" but I might be mistaken...
Sorry, couldn't resist. In all honesty that is one wicked looking figure.

I am interested in learning the stories behind these figures. I have a long way to go and it seems it is not necessarily going to be easy... Ah well, perhaps more rewarding that way.

All you need to do is get copies of Ultraseven, Ultraman, or Spectoralman to see these monsters in action.
That's what they are based on.
If you want to know why the are sculpted as they are. they were basically done as affordable, cheaper alternatives to "Playmodel", or remote controlled model kits back in the 60's thru to the early 70's.
The Giant Godzillas you own, are based on a sculpt of remote control playmodel that came out before the vinyl version.
Most of the toys you have are based on original sculpts, even out of the original mold. However some are newer independent companies "Filling the gaps" and making toys of monster characters that were never produced in the past by Bullmark or Marusan.

hallo! Geo-san
This figure was released in 2000 by Bandai-Bclub as a reproduction of Bull-Mark.
Back engraving are company emlblem of Bull-Mark and copyright notice of Tsuburaya-Production.
Alien Shaplay appeared on the episode 20 from Ultraseven, titled "Defeat Earthquake Source X", with Giradorus.

I'm still working on this. trying to make sure that I can get the best picture quality from my computer's dvd player and hopefully make up some sort of covers.
