Anyone know of any reputable candy toy / Gashapon distributors in the USofA? I'm talking wholesale of course. Looking to carry some in the gallery.

Candy toys are almost always stocked in supermarkets/convenience stores and as far as I know distributed by food distributers, so you might want to check on Japanese food importers.

i don't know about gashapon, but around halloween is a good time to find crazy candy toys. nothing like in the 80's/early 90's when you were swamped with cheap candy cases filled bitter goods....

I'm just looking for different stuff to carry. Impulse items and tiny collectible / trading toys. You know, the toys in the little boxes they release for all the various films and tv shows as well as anime and everything else in between (sushi, food items, etc.). It's more for the kids that come into the gallery with mom and dad during the openings or on sunday afternoons... we're doing more community events at the space and not all of the kids that attend can afford $25 and above items. The Be@rbrick's are pretty cheap, but not all of them like them, so...

Was hoping someone on the board may have a line on a decent distributor this way.

Strapya.com carries tons of stuff. I'm not sure if they do anything wholesale (since they are a retailer, I'm sure), but that might be a little bit of a lead.

TOMY Gashaphon machines have been showing up in a lot of movie theaters filled with some pretty cool stuff.
There is a Tomy US division that might be worth contacting....

the tomy machines are great. I ordered one this year through Diamond and got 800 free gacha (gashapon), which will pretty much pay for the machine over time. the gashapon selection is kinda marginal in the US, though. Occasionally see some cool bulk lots on ebay - and you also might want to check out www.japan-toys.com or other asian-import wholesalers

i bought a ton of Kozik's Action Pets capsule toys on ebay a while back. can't wait for the machine to come in and see what customers think.....
