 Bakobas Origin?
Can anyone tell me the story behind bakobas? Was he a patchi-kaiju from back in the day like zagoran? If so, are there any old pictures of him? he's my favorite of the gargarmel characters and I'd like to know more.
thanks!
Phil

 Re: Bakobas Origin?
NO clue but the fullsize has always seemed reminiscent of the baragon sculpt. (fyi the toygraph goth baragon has always seemed badass)

 Re: Bakobas Origin?
bakobas the character originated (as far as i know) in an old manga book that included the original (or at least early) zagoran, mighty and maybe others.
i found the book for sale at a shop in nakano broadway, but as it was mostly text with few illustrations, i just couldnt justify the price. (plus there were a few key toys calling me from nearby. decisions!!!)
some time ago, somebody posted scans from the old manga book, they may be here still if you do some sleuthing.

I believe Bakobaso originated from the "Siberian Iron Beast," which was in one of the Sekai no Kaiju books by Toshiya Nakaoka (I think this is what Josh is referring to). Shikaruna Koubo has done a 4-legged rendition of the original. The resemblance is less obvious than the Zagoran, but it's there (the ears).

Edit: beaten on the explaination, but here's a pic of the Shikaruna Koubo guy. I know I've seen an illustration from the Sekai no Kaiju book somewhere on these boards but I can't find it at the moment.

Yeah, The Gargamel version has a heavy Bullmark Baragon influence. (and the Anraku Neu just plain took Baragon's body!)

 Re: Bakobas Origin?
i think Bakobas looks similar to this character from the old cards.. that weird serpent is just too cool wish Gargamel would do it up as well.
