I don't collect dolls.
Lol, just yanking your chain! They're cool too.
I like the NOM Commanders but they're out of my price-range now,
so I got
this guy instead:
Some of the WWR bots, mainly the Dropcloths, sit nicely with the WWRp series,
and I've got one Heavy Bramble coming - couldn't resist.
But they are HUGE.
Look at that Large Martin in ASPrintingPress pic on p2 of this thread. O.O
Looking forward to seeing Henry though.
Found the book on Amazon btw, duh.
(Dunno why I thought it was sold out -
IDW still have some too.)
Have you seen the price the first Paperback is selling for?
And I thought the comic-book market was dead.

Sad state for a $300 toy:
A week after receipt & paint is
still drying.
Luckily I got mine later than some, and forewarned is forearmed
so I'm not gonna have any fingermarks, but dust is my sworn enemy right now.
Quality control problems?
KR never had them like this:
Wet sticky paint, one part missing paint completely,
broken flaps (
sic), & loose ankles.
These are among the complaints.
I still love it to bits tho.

odd, i've never received a 3A toy with sticky paint.
but that NW Bramble looks awesome. I always miss the NW.
Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:40 am
I bought that NW Bramble on an impulse and now that I have it need to get rid of it. Now I think I might should open it up and make sure mine is in order before I sell it on the second market and get blamed for the defects. I've heard a bit about wet paint in the past two weeks.

^
If you can't sell it on as "still in it's original shipping container"
then def open it up & dry it out man.
You can do that without touching it.
A fan might help, but beware of dust.
It's really humid here atm, which is not helping me at all.
I've heard people elsewhere say 3 or 4 days is enough though.
And it's not just me. The forum is full of this. Almost all were the same.
Some new painting technique (poss. using inks to get that metallic look)
on different surfaces (the Bramble is apparently a mixture of vinyl & plastic),
plus a tight schedule & higher than usual production run are probably to blame.
AW is aware of the problem, & has posted that it won't happen again,
but his excuse (that chemical reactions must have happened in transit) was kind of lame tbh.

I've had mine for more than two weeks so I'm sure the paint is fine but I need to make sure all the pieces are there and painted apparently.
Don't get me wrong I love 3A toys but some of the people and the positions they take have totally pushed me away from being a major collector anymore. Actually got rid of a lot of stuff in the past month only focusing on the colors I REALLY like.
Mon Jun 20, 2011 11:29 am
It might not be if you haven't opened it, but whatever.
The unpainted part is on the side of the cannon/rocket launcher.
You can pick it up with the handle. (That's dry).
I had THREE out of four broken flaps.
Luckily, my ankles appear to be fine.

If this is this a tactful way of saying they're all fuckin' nutters I concur!

Just a different breed of toy collector that's all, not trying to start anything.
Mon Jun 20, 2011 11:53 am
You could always just sell it to Toybot.

My major issue with them has always been ball joints which sometimes seem to freeze in one position, and then snapped when tugged ever-so-gently. I had movers pack mine a few weeks ago, I'll see how they survived the ride in a few days...
Mon Jun 20, 2011 1:23 pm
^ you had movers pack your toys?
that's very brave. i'd be afraid that they'd break or scratch them.
but yeah, i have the same issues with their joints—not loose enough, yet too tight.
Mon Jun 20, 2011 3:25 pm
Toys that had boxes were pre-packed by me. Toys that didn't fit because of tight limbs (like a bramble and a square) didn't. Nor did my kaiju. I am indeed nervous. The appraiser said packers would individually pack each toy. But when the packers came and saw the size of the collection (see Whole Collection thread), they apparently (I wasn't home) said it would take forever and proceeded to pack multiple items together. My wife said I wouldn't be happy, but they promised the toys would be fine. I'll see in 3 days... Insured for 100,000$, so I -will- file a claim for each and every scuff.
