they are kind of cool. Are they vinyl? The one with the blue eye is my favorite.

Not my thing, to be honest.
The second photo is somewhat disturbing on a couple levels..
Third one stands out to me, but again, not my thing.

They look more like they're ceramic to me.
Creepy but cool in a Scott Musgrove kinda way.

I like the first pic with the 4 pups with colored eyes, anything creepy and realistic works for me

I really like the three in front in the first picture but not sure if I'd display them. (a bit too creepy for me)

I like these a lot. They're creepy in a good way, especially the first picture.

OK, thanks for your comments! Hmm, I can totally see the Scott Musgrove thing. I don't know what to think about that. They're disturbing alright, but they are also kind of cute. They certainly look very real (look how their little noses shine!).
Anyway, I don't want to be all mysterious or anything so here's the lowdown:
Owing to another commitment and also having almost NO MONEY I arrived REAL LATE at WCC. I was bombing around trying to find the Blobpus table (think they'd already packed up & gone!) when I stumbled on these. Something about them just made me have to STOP and LOOK.
Then I walked away.
Then I went back again for ANOTHER look.
They're made by a really rather attractive young lady called Noe Takahashi.
She usually does Craft Fairs rather than Toy Festivals. Next event is in December. She's nothing if not prolific, and I think you should all give her lots of money and make her famous right now. Stupidly I forgot to ask what these are made of. They do look like ceramics but are very lightweight. Not vinyl I think. Resin maybe? The little guys in the first pic (you can hold one in the palm of your hand) were 4000yen each. The big blue baby thing was ...(cough)... 100,000yen. The bondage dog she said was not for sale.
Here's a link to her website: www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~noefa
Dolls, generally, creep me out, but it looks like she does a lot of those as well, and people like Paul Kaiju and Missy will have a great time in here.

I am immune to such base human emotions as love and lust. Her long wavy black hair and gentle voice, which was as soft and silky as her snow-white skin, had no effect upon me...
...honestly!
And I didn't buy one. Like I said: no money.
Plus they look kind of lonely on their own. You could keep it in your pocket, just taking it out occasionally when you wanted to freak someone out I suppose. But as a display I think 4 or 5
work best.

I like her works.
I'm working on a sculpture of a rabbit eating her babies that's sort of in that same style.
I've also seen pics of her stuff used by alot of people on Myspace to make themselves look very "otherworldly" and unique.

The dog larvae are too creepy, but I really like the fat tattooed baby netsuke on her site. I'd like a little group of those Yakuza tikes.
