Post Melted M1 rubber bands on brand new MIB figures?
I just got my second MIB M1 figure in the last 2 months that has his wrist covered in melted rubberband from the M1 tag. Is there anyway to get this off or are both of my toys ruined?

Ruined? Nah, just think of it as wabi-sabi!

I've experienced the dissolving rubber band phenomenon a few times, myself. Taking a Magic Eraser to the areas helped some, but I wasn't able to remove all the stains completely. Good luck?

M1 rubber band stains increase the value by at least 20%. True story.

Ah the infamous melty rubber band syndrome.

Mine just came right off. And I cleaned it up using Ronsonol lighter fluid. Not sure if Zippo is the same. But that's mine. Not sure about others.

It really depends on the state and age of the 'melt.' A light solvent or soap can be used for some of the stickier stuff, while the really old and dry stuff is much easier to pick away gently with a knife. Melted rubber bands are just par for the course with old M1 stuff, part of the line most are well familiar with, and nothing to get too worked up over.

And, incidentally, issues with 'ageing' like this are just another reason to crack open those sealed toys and enjoy them! :)

Yes, if it were up to me all toy packaging would ruin toys eventually ;)

Update: Thanks to ultrakaijus tip I soaked the arm in a jar of hot soap water and was able to rub off the goo once it changed colors and became chalky white. I then used a baby wipe on residue and it's super clean now and as good as new!! Next I have to try the same trick on my mechagodzilla! So happy this problem can be fixed without causing damage! Wheew! :D
