^ Yeah I love the illustrations Earl Norem did for the U.S. stuff, but this is equally beautiful!
Would love to see larger images of it.

no proof at all.

some collectors and dealers claiming they are real,
but there isnt even a foto with a box that has a figure being attached in it.
only there are fotos of boxes.
boxes are all in extremely good shape, very uncommon if they are that old.

most of these boxes coming from a ebay seller from u.s. who made a fortune with these
claiming he bought a bunch from a comic shop in u.s.

btw this was the ebay description:

***SUPER RARE AND ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND***

TRY TO FIND ONE, I'LL BET YOU, YOU CAN'T !!!!!!!!

when these have sold in japan in the 80ies there should be much more in japan´s toyshops these days
and some folks here would know. anyone???

If it's a US perpetrated hoax, you should send box images to a translation service like gengo if you don't mind spending 20 bucks, use their highest level of service and have the translator look for typos and errors, if this was done without the help of a Japanese editor, I'm sure there would be a few editorial mistakes.

To the best of my knowledge these are real, although never sold. Takara ultimately used the regular US packaging with a Japanese language sticker on the back, the consensus is that these illustrated white boxes were advance samples, but never went into production. Same story for the near-mythical vintage MOTU Keshi figures. A handful of samples were made, but no actual production, never released.

A friend of mine has several of those vintage MOTU keshi figures. The price they fetch is beyond ridiculous.
