I don't have the latest GiantRobot magazine in front of me, but there was an article about a guy who was pursuing his holy grail toy for years.
I can't remember the name at the moment, Poseiden kinda reminds me of it, but the bidding started around $9000 and he pulled the finally trigger at around $15,000...
That's pricey vintage vinyl.
I gotta look up that figure again...

Nah some toy collecting nerd and how it took him years to find this holy grail toy.
Like hunting everywhere for years, and then borrowing someone's laptop to bid $15 grand on YJA...

Also, I like the greyscale Astroboys more than the flesh ones for some reason.
Then again, I also don't get the Cocky figure.

Astroboy is one of my very favorites hands down. I have a soft spot for the nostalgia of it all. This is a Medicom version I picked up a few years back. It is amazingly articulated and the chest opens up to show his little lite up heart - SIGH

Wow I never seen this version before. Is this the one where he originally comes with a sticker over his eyes like he is asleep and the you peel it off? I have seen this figure at some shop going for like $200 but not sure if it's made by Medicom.

i've got that fella, he's indeed a medicom. I bought him for $12 at a comic store locally. There was also greyscale versions of him available as well.
Shape is right, he has great articulation. I missplaced mine, but you can pull the feet off and replace them will little rocket trails so it appears like he's flying.

There is also a very similar DIECAST version about the same size. I need it too. But no sticker over the eyes as far as I know. I have the monotone and another version by medicom still sealed-chuckle ! I need to dig those up . Need more shelf space. I also have a few diescast robots I need to display, talk about articulation.

I have the gray scale and I believe it ws a TRU in Japan exclusive. I seem to remember the sticker on the package.
