I reckon the numbers on these must be in the 300-400 range. They're everywhere! Which is a good thing, I guess.
Still, with the numbers on most of the new releases going up so dramatically recently, the accompanying price hike is harder to swallow...

I speculate that the Gold Skullwing should be in the 500 pcs range. It was retailing at JPY 3,990. The same price as a common SB figues. The variant was about double the selling price of the regular. It think there's about 150 to 200 variants around.

You're not the only one, Toybot - I went for the $139 BIN a few weeeks ago. However, it is amazing-looking, so I'm not unhappy.
I guess I've gotten acclimated to the "Grab it fast before it's gone!" mindset, which sometimes leads to rash decisions.

I have a feeling we're going through a seed change with SB figures. Even the Silver Mantis, which was once thought to be untouchable, was clearly made in a batch of at least 75-100.
I say wait for nearly every release, since prices could well start to fall to at or even below retail for a lot of figures. Not the Wings, mind you, but other releases definitely.

+1
I did the BIN on YahooJP for 10,000 and now they are everywhere! I'm sure it's an awesome figure but it seems patience pays off...literally

I think people are overestimating the size of the collector base for these toys. Think about how many SB releases the month of Oct has seen and then ask yourself how big the runs size might be. If they are in the 200-500 range SB is outselling KR, PI and everyone else by a long shot. I think 150 is still a large run for a SB release. I wish they would release larger runs and less figures but that does not seem to be the case.

Weren't the run #s for the first few skullwings 250? I'm pretty sure I read that on pusfan.com or somewhere. Wouldn't surprise me if these new ones were more than that.

From an old post.
brianflynn wrote: We will be getting them in soon! There are 300 regular and 30 blood splatters. You can't tell which version you get inside of the green bag. 1 in 11 wins!

umm, the madballs are still for sale at retail! I think you may have offered proof that these runs are a lot lower since they sell out in hours.

The demand for the blue and yellow was for the chase i believe..Hot at first but once the bloody ones started showing up it seems people lost interest..

That's why chases suck. Nobody cares about the regular version.
That madball release was one of the last times I remember seeing a run #. Maybe the fact that they are still available at retail is part of the reason the runs are kept a mystery now.

I like the Madball and have the bloody one which I love.
The blood spray seems more realistic and fine than the bloody bee from the ringset.

I think if the runs are getting larger then it's time for a price reduction !
