 Models, vehicles and stuff
I'm completely nuts about vintage space toys and vehicles lately. Click on the rising sun at the bottom for more pics. Insanity. http://www.japansuperfantasticmodel.com/I recently picked this up of the bay. It's like slot cars in tubes! My first trip to Japan at Wonderfest, there was a dude selling 3 HUGE sets of these tube rockets. He offered me a KILLER price, but i had to decline. I still regret it. I think all three of them framed would have made the most incredible installation. The box art was TOTALLY insane. beautiful. Sets my heart afire stuff. Also check out this site: http://projectswordtoys.blogspot.com/I had S.W.O.R.D. based toys as a kid that I tore up without abandon. I never realized they were based off Gerry Anderson related vehicles. That dude covers that bottomless pit like no effer.

That box art is a treat to wade through. You've reminded me of the marusan tederos stuff. I think you just convinced me to get the submarine:

 Re: Models, vehicles and stuff
....sort of related, I've been buying up old Matchbox and Dinky toy catalogs. As a young kid I had no idea what the SHADO vehicles were in the Dinky catalog, but I wanted them badly!

21st century toys.
The relation will drive you mad.
Not that missile firing speed space boats and mole space subs don't drive me crazy already...

Thanks so much for posting those links Lately I've also been really into vintage space toys/art.Just bought the Mike Trim art book.I saw that auction on Ebay glad you won it. Love the look of alot of the stuff made during the 60's space race.Really dig the Major Matt Mason toys.

 Re: Models, vehicles and stuff
LOVE me some spacey shit. Artwork as well as toys. CDX recent posted this review of Anderson's Zero-X. And speaking of TEDEROS, Jack, the drill-tank-robo is also killer:

This line would have been a white-hot comet streak across toy history. Mattel was a pack of fools for turning this guy down: http://melbirnkrant.com/osmvehicles/

 Re: Models, vehicles and stuff
Just got my rocket tube toy today. It's like a slot car in a tube. The rocket car lights up! (lil sucker gets HOT!) Had to break the staple on the corner obi to pull out the parts and play. i was the first. it's fulfilled it's destiny. Frikkin beautiful toy this is. My perspective is, Japan LOVES it's children, and loves me too.

Holy shit!
Too awesome.
Heh...when I was a kid, I had a generic Tyco figure-8 racetrack...and me and my buddies would glue glow in the dark shit all over the cars and race those fuckers around and around in the dark!

Those rocket tubes are awesome. I used to dream about my parents buying this micronauts set for me and my lil bro, unfortunately i remember it was very expensive. We never got one... from: kuroneko-chan.com
