 Heroes- Vintage Shelf
Vintage Corner by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Little bit of everything in here. Used that blow dryer/cold water technique to make some in the back stand (actually on risers). Serious leg standing issues. Now I just have to fit those full size Redman in the back (when they arrive- and hopefully they will fit) and this will be my new fave shelf!

Re: My new improved Vintage corner
Beautiful group shot Lixx. I guess my vintage is showing, but that's definitely my favourite shelf of your collection so far.

Re: My new improved Vintage corner
Thanks guys. Yeah it kind of pushed out all the SK minis. Most of them went to live under risers in the back. I really need another shelf unit but it might be awhile for that to come to fruition. I really like this assortment. Still want to get some Tiger 7, Kikaider, Godman, Barom One, Condorman, Rainbowman, Flying Attack Human, and Jumborg Ace in there to get an even bigger mix but that will have to wait also.

Should I assume that you won the akumaizer minis on Yahoo Japan? Good score

Newer stuff through pre orders or the BST here sometimes but mostly YJA. Have been for years. Better selection and even with the middleman fees/exchange rate it's often better than ebay. People want way too much for certain things on there. Once in awhile you find a deal though. Here's an artsy pic of Mezalord mezalordpix by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr

Re: My new improved Vintage corner
I almost bid on those. They were a deal and when I saw a bid come through I passed. I'm usually of the mind set that there is plenty of deals out there and no real need to screw up someone else's deal.
Akumaizer and some of the lessor known shows to hypebeast's around here, have rad characters. Please no one tell them anything.

This is so fascinating, but I have abiding by this principle myself. Good to know good karma practices are not a lost art. And Lixx, really lovely set, wish you many more to add to this lot.

Great stuff man, and nice arrangement. I really like your new Kikaider, even though he is not vintage - fits in excellently. Now it's time for the villains shelf

 Re: Heroes- Vintage Shelf
sndbyte hooked me up with that kikaider, it's by maxtoy. Every standard one I was looking at was pretty expensive and this one just appeared and seemed even cooler than the vintage ones anyway. There are only 6 non vintage toys on this shelf. Kikaider, the two larger Marusan reissue Ultraman 450's in the back, standard Marusan 350 reissue in the middle (although I've never seen any others with the yellow eyes painted- mostly just non painted eyes), and the Marmit Glow & M1 Ultraman. Villain shelf- well maybe one day.

 Re: Heroes- Vintage Shelf
thats a nice tigermask variation- the orange heads are my favorite. and either you got some extremely minty KR villains- or they are repros! whats the deal with those?
*edit just saw your post in the WYJGITM thread- still nice scores!

 Re: Heroes- Vintage Shelf
Thanks michael. Yeah the KR Villains are repros- Unifive. I mean I'd love to have vintage ones but I'm not ashamed I can't really afford those at the moment. Unifive repros will tide me over in the mean time and are pretty inexpensive. I love the Tiger Seven! Can't believe I've secretly been checking them out for 5 years now and finally got one.

 Re: Heroes- Vintage Shelf
no reason to be ashamed. i love the repros as well (i have a few) just because its a taste of what these toys might have been like fresh from the package. good placeholders as well!
and im the same with the tiger 7- i had been wanting one ever since i saw joshs collection when i first joined skullbrain- and just got around to buying one at the beginning of the year. its a perfect toy

 Re: Heroes- Vintage Shelf
Lixx, I just keep coming back to check your vintage corner photos. I really love what you have done in such a short period. And I have to be honest, it has inspired me to focus a bit more on vintage as well. Now I need to make a vintage corner too and take a picture like yours.

Dedo is that a Popy 19cm Fireman in that top row?!!! I've got the 14cm version, but I've never seen a pic posted of one of those here. Can we get a close up?
