I enjoyed watching this battle this morning. I've never even seen one of these pop up:

Wow! I've never seen a clear boxed let alone include a crazy base!
What a beauty.

I don't think that is such crazy pricing, comparatively speaking. I haven't seen one of these come up either, but now I definitely want one of those bases. I don't care that much about added packaging, but anything I can play with extra or display toys on is pure gold. Love those fake rocks.

As the back of the box shows, there were three boxed figures Popy released with the base. And they don't come up a lot. My guess is the low ending price is because of the inherent risk that goes along with most auctions. But this one looks solid.

Good eye, I hadn't even noticed that. Guess they wanted to upgrade the quality of the one from last year and have money to throw around (unless it is a buying service). Well, hopefully this bodes for the 'lesser' one coming back up for sale soon.

^^^ Has to be Scott, either that or very large pockets.

I'm pretty sure someone got a bit of a deal with 2 for 1 here. I've seen these go close to this price on their own:

I suck at screenshots so here:

Too funny.:)

Would love to see Picts showing the four color variations of the king Ghidorah Hawaii spray.

Yeah, I was watching that. I wasn't really expecting to be able to make a play for him, though I did really want to. Definitely one of those figures I have been after. But wow, talk about high end bid. Considering Mirrorman figures fall on the very low end of the pricing scale (possibly due to their numbers, I am not sure) I didn't think it would go that high, even as nice a figure as it is. More depressing that anything really.

The fly from Flying Attack Human I actually expected to go higher in this recent bout of paying crazy money for bagged figures. The figure is super obscure, not well collected by anyone in Japan, but hard as heck to find, and one of those series that Americans love because the figure is so bananas looking. (like Leafman for instance.) .

The Tohl Narita artwork on that package is DEFINITELY the cherry on top of that one!

Also, this was cool. I'd seen the figure before, but not the header. I took a stab at it, but eventually was outbid.

That guy is lovely, great find man, and thanks for posting it. The header art is really something, a fantastic addition to an already beautiful Red King. Sorry you weren't successful on it. What was the end price?

I saw this also. Glad to see it ended reasonable instead of the original 100000 BIN price.

It actually ended very reasonably at 2,705 yen. I just had already bought one thing earlier, and had (and have) my eyes on other things. So I am trying to be good.

Well I look forward to seeing what is to come then!

(and all is good when it comes to vintage, we've all been there and overspent on the hobby - but never is there any regret)

^ That card rules!

This just ended. I love the paint on this mini-mini Bullmark MechaG (even smaller than the standard mini according to Club Tokyo: http://www.clubtokyo.org/images/figures ... mgcomp.JPG ).
