Re: "cute " vinyls
Went back to the same place with small hopes of finding the other two Pogo guys, but no cigar. I did find this minty Ernest J. Keebler though 1974 Keebler Co.
Aaand, also found these two other bagged beauties! I had posted the doggie I found a while back, and was very excited to find a kitty & horse!

Love that Keebler elf, Rei, that was indeed a good find. So nice to see people dig up these treasures and give them new homes (and life).

70s(?) coin banks of Jack & the Beanstalk and The Little Mermaid. Note Jack looking like butter wouldn't melt, with his stolen hen.
Need to find the others x.x

^^ Those are wonderful . . . they look in good condition for their age! I would guess 60's / 70's too. The Japanese love their coin banks.
Nice score.

Thanks, I'm pretty pleased with them! And yeah, the little mermaid in particular seems in really good condition. I wish Japan was still like this, I'd have bank accounts everywhere, haha.

Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan, and Thumbelina. I'm pretty sure that's all of them, anyway. They had a counter-size one of The Little Mermaid at mandarake before that was pretty incredible.

I have to join in with the praises as well~ those two are so charming! The mermaid is my fave; love the water detail on the base.

I have to chime to agree, those banks are stunners Kappa. Congratulations! I love them both, and will definitely have to check out some more of the series. I remember seeing a ton of excellent banking and pharmaceutical merch at the Mandarake stores (Grandchaos esp. always seemed to have a great selection). I always wished I could have picked more up, but man, already so much to collect and so little Yen to go around. Like you, I would definitely yearn for the simpler days where you could easily pick these up, but some places there still have some very nice promotional items too (unlike nearly else in the world nowadays). A lost aspect, one I can truly appreciate.

Anyways, congrats again, excellent finds.
Thanks! I've never been to Grandchaos, but the Mandarake in Nakano has a big selection, although they're not priced to sell these days. They seem to be running that section more like a museum. It's great to look at, though. And you're right - promotional items and mascot characters in general are still very much commonplace here, and even vinyl coin banks are still around to an extent, so I shouldn't complain.

Love the Wombles, they look like weird birthday candles. The elephant reminds me of my aunt's crazy glass animals collection (may they rest in peace).

You guys have been doing great! Nice Wombles, Moog. I finally got to go to my first car boot sale in a long while this weekend, and was eagerly looking for such simple treasures, but alas, no luck at all. Not much at all in the ways of toys or knicknacks. But it was a pleasure to go just the same. Got to keep on searchin'.

Yep, thats the spirit. Although, it can get very addictive!
I realised i hadn't took a proper photo of my Bootleg Ledraplastic Mickey. I bought both of these at boot-sales about a year apart. They are pretty much the same build and quality to the originals except they dont have the large makers stamp and the eyes are wrong. The light reflections should be pointing in the same direction . . . .

Re: "cute " vinyls
Oh wow, those are lovely man, I don't even go in for Disney stuff. Just classic vinyl toys right there, they have got that perfect vintage look you don't get to see in stuff nowadays, and them being bootlegs just make it that much better. The much more anthropomorphic look and the clothes make it. 15" tall?! So good, man, so good. That is a great set. I would definitely have to [gladly] eat any reluctance I felt towards the Mouse for those.

Re: "cute " vinyls
^^ Yeah mate, i hear you. I dont usually go for Disney, but if i do, its gotta be pretty old stuff. These two are perfect. They are heavy and substantial . . . . and they have that old vinyl smell, which i like.
Ledraplastic did some amazing sculpts in their Disney series. I would say these bootlegs are probably rarer than the official versions, like you say, it kinda makes them better in my eyes. I assume being an Italian company these boots were made in Italy.

I'm not typically a Disney collector either, but if that isn't the most attractive Mickey design I've ever seen.
I can't imagine ever running across 1, but I'd certainly pick him up if the price was right.
Thanks for sharing.
