The Buto lot right after it went for 1300. I know some lucky bastard won the M1 LB Painted Yellow Matango lot for 225. So many insane deals to be had. Ebay is going to be really busy in the next month or so. Morphy emails winners Monday so....

lurker wrote: i thought i read somewhere that if the final bid isn't within such % of the estimated value that it doesn't sell? Negative. I just read the terms in the catalog and this is a non-reserve auction. The catalog states that in a non-reserve auction, the opening bid is usually 1/4 of the low estimate. Other than that, the high bid takes it even if it's a minimum bid. Anyone know how much some of the vintage lots of Hawaii vinyls went for? When I figured out I could not bid online at work, I left some phone bids with them and then drove home to bid from there so I missed all of those auctions and would love to know if there were steals on those figures as well. I'm frustrated I was unable to bid on lot # 1 - there were some killer Target Earth and Rainbow pieces in there easily exceeding the final price of $500.00.

Re: morphy auction ...you will want to read this
I'm a little confused, the lot that I had absentee bidded on went for well under my max bid but it said it was "sold to the floor". Does this mean my bid won, basically I'm asking if absentee bids are seen as floor bids since Morphys actually bids for me? I should probably just wait for the confirm email instead of speculating.

I don't know for sure but I'm guessing they are considered "floor bids" since they are placed on your behalf by a Morphy's rep.

My dad bids via absentee bidding on vintage toy train auctions all the time, and I believe when he wins it counts as 'floor' bids because it's he auctioneer representative bidding on your behalf at the actual event. Could be different for Morphy's I suppose, but that's just what I've seen.

Next time (if we live long enough to see another collection like this on the block)

Re: morphy auction ...you will want to read this
Dumb question, but is there any way to find the final bid if you bid online beforehand? I couldn't watch the live auction.
I'm assuming what is shown as the high bid for that lot is the ending bid?
EDIT: To clarify, I mean the high bid shown on my bidder account (for only that auction).

I am intrigued myself. The actual auction results do not appear to be up online as yet.

I'm assuming what is shown as the high bid for that lot is the ending bid? we are all trying to figure the same thing out as well. i think the only way to truly know is to watch the auction and scroll back through the bidding logs (but you can only scroll through ones you were actually watching) where does it show the high bid at? is that under your account where it shows your bids at?
