Are you looking for anything in addition to the stuff that Scott posted Don? I would love to help out with cataloging anything I am able to. I am still awaiting the kickstarter to bring your Powerpoint presentation into a feature documentary! :)

Keeping on the Jumborg Ace track, here's another one. A loose version was shown a few pages back. Here's what the packaging looks like:

That is really nice artwork, and I love the imperfectly offset printing on it - reminds me of reading comic books (when they were worth reading). Great figure Andy. How do you display all of your figures in packaging?

Makes sense. Japanese homes are not really well suited to collections of any sort! :P

Oh, and Don, I have zero regrets about wanting this to come to fruition. We all love and are appreciative of your efforts on the bootleg story. I hope you are also backing that stuff up. We can't lose such history to the electronic ether by some unfortunate event.

I meant to post these two boot Zone Fighters in the thread, here you go:

Image

The one on the right was mis-listed in every possible way so I literally watched it from August to November drop from the original 8000 yen YJA price tag to 3000 yen before buying it

Even though andy already posted this guy I like the way this photo turned out so here's one more. I have the solid version of this guy on the way as well. Surprised how soft this one is...almost fishing lure type material.

I was really admiring that shot on flickr. Really nice close up. The vinyl looks so milky clear. I don't think it's the same type of clear vinyl used in say the Popy clears. I'm salivating waiting for mine to arrive this week :)

So a buddy of mine in Rhode Island picked up this Agira/Jirass-like bootleg from John Cimino (the Mego Stretch Hulk guy!) this weekend at a toy show...and he was wondering if the big brains around here knew anything about it:

At first, I thought it was a Super Dinosaur, but after looking those guys up, I didn't see this sculpt. What do you guys think?

Post Re: Bootleg Thread
Hey Sanjeev,
It's a bootleg of a monster from Megaloman. See this thread for the, brightly colored, original by Takatoku:http://skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=46274&hilit=megaloman This boot and a Seabozu and Vakshimu were released in the early '80s and could be found at cheap novelty stores like Spencers. This is a rare example of where the original way out-funks the bootleg. Hope he did not pay much for it because these guys are common and dirt cheap.

Heh...thanks Roger, but it's actually my friend's score. Note the "flesh"-colored hands and lack of thumb rings! ;)

LOL
