Re: marusan originals  most of the vintage standard size of mine never broke a hundred . the giant size is another story .the finger puppet or small size seem to go for around the same price as the standard size .

Re: marusan originals Unfortunately for us, I see the harder-to-find standards regularly breaking a hundred these days. I almost won an Ebirah for under $50, but the seller yanked the auction right before it ended.

Where does the Giant Gorilla fit into things? They don't appear in the book, but do at the bottom of the b&w insert with the toys. Was it part of the original series and just appeared later?

Re: marusan originals I don't remember if the Giant Gorilla was originally part of the kaiju series or if it was sold with the One Million BC dinosaurs, and I'm not sure if it was actually repurposed afterwards as King Kong for the Toho Kaiju lineup or if that's something collectors did years later.
Jim or Mark can probably weigh in on this.
