Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
That was one hell of a bargain, if ever I saw one. It is so great when seeping through all those Japanese sites and auctions, you come across something like this. Does the sword seperate from the scabbard? Weird how this one seems to have a similar sword to the larger size, but doesn't even have the hands to grasp it

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Sword is huge, and yes it does come out of the scabbard. Sadly I can't pose it in the hands as you mentioned, but what's cool is the black belt is separate from the tunic and snaps in the back. So it's useful for latching the sword.
I still have to pinch myself at the bargain, can't believe it was complete! It's also nice to get the cool illustrated backing card. Maybe one day when I find the larger licensed version. Can you put a sword in his hand?

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Just wanted to post this here to share. Nothing too new, or really expensive for that matter, but I was trying to win this dude because I hadn't seen the staff before (and I really wanted a skullman). In the end though, the premium was just too much. Thought I would share the pics of the complete guy though. The paint on this dude is also in decent shape, so there's that.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Weird...that's the first time I've ever seen the giant sized Majin Sai's weapon. I thought he had a jumonji yari (three-pronged spear) in the show. Oh well! I love how ridiculous the weapons are for these toys! Great score!

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
This is the standard size I think, not the giant. It could be this isn't even the 'correct' weapon, I am not 100%, but it definitely looks cool and seems to suit him. Outside of NA, I didn't even know there were figures with accessories - the few I have seen packaged didn't have any anyways. Oh well, next time

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Oh, whoops! Thought it was the giant 'cause of the thread. Of course, I was looking at the pics...on my cell phone...on the shitter...half asleep this morning! And for the weapon itself, I got the original mixed up with the (righteously badass) SIC Majin Sai. He has the jumonji-yari, while the original has that fancy wavy pig-sticker ("kris"???). So my guess is that the weapon yours came with is legit:

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
I believe all of the Standard size Ninja Arashi villains came with staffs of some sort, and of course, they are always tricky to find with them. The giant size does not come with the staff.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Interesting to know Brian. I did not recall that from what I saw, so it is something to keep my eye out for. I know somewhere around here I saw a good shot of the package insert, but the best I can do is this bagged Mashima pic I snuck at a Mandarake. I'll have to search around for that other shot. Edit: Here we go, unfortunately, yeah, nothing is shown accesory-wise. Would love to see some shots of other weapons if any folks out there have seen them (or have some themselves).

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
I ganked these from a Doku Utsubo auction that ended a while back: Weird that they didn't include the weep'ns in those photos on the card. And doubly weird that the giant-size figures didn't come with weapons...

Damn, that double-scythe weapon is kick-ass!! You remember what the end bid was on that lot?

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Hrmmmm....around 20-25k??
The auction didn't have the bag or header, so it didn't go too crazy...but I'm sure *just* the inclusion of the kama drove up the price.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Majin Sai by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr TB's last act of kindness I guess. I know the giant guy is impossible/expensive to find, so this Popy version will have to do. It's actually a really cool mini lurking next to his nemesis.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Not bad at all Lixx, best to go out on a high note like that. The villains can be a pain to track down, particular in mini size, so having such a nice one is pretty amazing.

He's a Bruins fan so.... he'll be rooting against the Habs tonight! On the serious side yeah I'd been meaning to get Majin Sai for a long time but the one auction I had saved on YJA that kept circulating disappeared when I got around to it. Hindsight is 20-20 I guess because before TB cut me off I remembered that there was one at Nostalgic Heroes for 4900 yen and had them buy it. Official last act. Villains are really tough in this size is right! Years ago even before I was into vintage I kept seeing the Popy Cat Maddalla all the time on YJA. I had it bookmarked literally for a year or so. Man I wish I got it! That size Cat Maddalla is my most wanted now.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Haha, well in that case I am going to have to get some toy minions to counter that cheering too. It sucks that NH is also so hard to buy from. YJA is one thing, but I can't figure out when you have an online store, why would you NOT be open to any buyers? I have lived there and shipped stuff, it is hardly any more work. Plus, they don't even respond to emails, which pisses me off coming from anyone. Still in love with that backwards punching Ninja Arashi too, always kills me to see a nice mini I still have yet to track down.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
I've emailed NH and did get a response, although not positive. They just said no shipping overseas. I previously got a few Rainbowman mini's from them using TB also. The minis seem fairly priced the standards not so much. Also most of the online toys have writing on them (but no pics of the writing). All mine did (on backs).
Backwards punching Ninja Arashi is the pencil sharpener. He did not come with the stand though.

Re: ninja arashi- go big or go home
Well you had better luck than me then. I tired English and poorly translated Japanese. Even tried when I was in Japan. Oh well, I never did find anything really reasonably priced there, was just looking to get my hands on new releases from them. The vintage is just outrageous.
Ah I think I saw the pencil sharpener guy only once, and didn't know he had a stand (and I think the sharpener part was missing too).

Heres the pencil sharpener guy with his base, made by Banso (the popup book people). He also came with a fabric scarf. another one I picked up recently, poison eel mini.
