As if the Kamen Rider jumbo wasn't awesome (and rare) enough, I have not seen him with the rocket-firing fists. The thought of having those two to battle it out is melting my heart.

The actual V3 Jumbo is fairly common, however, the Jumbos the child is playing with are none I've ever seen before. I can only assume these are very early prototype variations as they look nothing like their actual production counterparts. I love the way that V3 looks. I see a cross between the stature of the jumbos we know and early Tokusatsu sofubi heroes. It almost looks vinyl. Perhaps the material was considered for production before they went with polyethylene? Regardless, it all seems strange as the actual Mazinger Z that went into production can be seen in the ad to the right.

 Re: Retro Japanese Toy Adverts
That is a fantastic ad for those henshin suits. There are quite a few I have never even seen before. If these are all production ones then I am seriously missing out - not that I need another area to collect. I like that you can see multiple variants for versions of the same character (even if I can't spot the differences in them).

There are tons of instances where early prototypes will be shown on ads and even packaging for the later production toys. Hell, the Jumbo Grendizer is featured on the chogokin's box! Great Mazinger, too, I think...and probably plenty of others!

That book looks phenomenal. I can only imagine all the afternoons I could waste just pouring over the contents. Thanks for adding all the extra pics. Someone has to get working on translations of all these great Japanese tomes.

 Re: Retro Japanese Toy Adverts
Holy crap, that Ace base is killer. I would have loved to have that as a kid (still would), I am a huge sucker for playsets of all kinds. Another amazing treasure trove of ads Moog. I would also be interested to know if anyone has info on these guys, or even has one:
