Re: Bootleg Thread
It's so strange that (especially for the silver guy) the Super Dinosaurs line really pushed it even a step further with an outright rip-off of the licensed character. I am glad they did of course, 'Robot King' is hilariously great!

Re: Bootleg Thread
here are my 2 Bemstar variations from the Super Dinosaurs line, along with a smaller little Bemstar buddy from the separate series Super Dino Monsters. there are a total of 8 figures in the Super Dinosaurs series and 12 in the Super Dino Monsters series, along with loads and loads of color variations.

Re: Bootleg Thread
So I was looking for info on this bootleg I just won: and checked out S7 issue 15's article on Fireman. Sure enough its there. Never noticed it before, no info besides 'bootleg'. More importantly though I just noticed what we call the 'disco hands' bootlegs (see the first post in this thread for pic) according to the article are made by a company called Romando. Anyone else know anything about them?

Re: Bootleg Thread
Romando was a smallish toy company that had their hands in a LOT of different offerings. I'm surprised they did a bootleg Fireman...first, because this is the first vintage vinyl (that Pikudoron is modern) I'm aware of that they did (Chris, do you know when that Fireman came out?)...and second, because all their other offerings that I'm aware of were properly licensed.

Oh I was talking about two different things. I meant through the Fireman S7 Magazine article I discovered Romando made the disco hands bootlegs (according to the article Fireman was one of them) shown here: That bootleg Fireman pictured above I have no idea who made it, was wondering that's all. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey I posted pretty pics of the new Marusan Red Ultraseven in the new Bullmark/Marusan thread Sanjeev Yeah the article is in the Star Wars Japan issue (S7 #15) Flynn did the toy history so maybe he knows more about Romando doing these disco hands guys (I always thought they were straight up unlicensed bootlegs).

Re: Bootleg Thread
See the recent purchases thread for size comparison. Not sure if it comes through in the photos, but it has a nice gold fleck pattern. I still need to clean it up a bit.

Re: Bootleg Thread
That's a pretty cool bootleg Kingboy. Clear and standard sized Mazinger? There is something you don't normally see. Good score (as well as your others in the mail thread).

Re: Bootleg Thread
Thanks! I don't think the appearance will change too much, but there are some marks on one of the arms that I am hoping I can remove.

This one was ¥5k MIB. As is the case with a lot of these obscure knock-offs, it might take some patience finding one.

Re: Bootleg Thread
Been meaning to post these boots for a while. The orange one is more likely a pachi but it reminds me of Baragon and looks good w/ the giant Goji.

Re: Bootleg Thread
All four are excellent to be sure, but that Popy-style one is melting my cold heart. I also always liked that giant headed Spectreman, and love how it kind of look like he has a moustache.
