I've never been into the mazinger figures (and i guess it's a good thing for my wallet) but some of the villians are among the coolest japanese toys ever made. this thing is a bona fide work of art - congrats on the score - it would be the centerpiece of any hardcore collector's stash.

BTW, did you get those emails i sent you with the links? if not, let me know and I'll resend 'em.

Thanks.

yeah, collecting vinyls is just like what they say about alcoholism - "One drink is too many and a hundred ain't enough!"

Wishing for these mazinger villians would be like a dream that turns into your worst nightmare.

You know it's bad when i find myself saying: "Hey, if i skip lunch today, I'll have another $10.00 I can spend on kaiju. Good deal!"

He's about 52cm or 20.5inches tall. Here he is next to to the glow Balbagon for scale.

Congrats on the score Jim. Halfway there already! :)

thanks frank . 10 grand is way out of my reach . all five of my jumbo villians might come out to about that . there is one more jumbo villian i can possibly afford and then the final 4 become far too expensive for me . those ones can get up to 10 grand and the garada even more

Daublas is one of those jumbos that comes up now and again, and rarely comes up as nice as Dave's. Lots of times he has a broken part on one of the heads, and the paint is very easily scuffed. I was lucky enough to get a nice one and box with mine as well, which is also really fun, since its basically brown cardboard with a two color design.

This guy is my favorite though, and it took FOREVER to find him:

the rokuron Q9 is one of my favorites too . thanks for posting it . never get tired of seeing that vinyl . the paint on daves daublas is in fantastic shape . silver paint is one of those colors that can and will come of on your hand on an old vinyl . keep posting pics as it sounds like you have some top drawer stuff .

Sweet! I had no idea you picked up a Rokuron! Last I heard you had grabbed Dabulas, but that was it. Congratulations!

As for Kingdan, nah, I wish I had an extra to sell. That would mean I had upgraded my repaired one, which I would love to do someday.

And honestly, I don't consider the paint on my Dabulas to be particularly good (or bad). Maybe it seems better than it is because the paint on the face is pretty good? Maybe sometimes things just look better in pictures than up close too. For instance, every picture I've taken of my white limbed Great Mazinger makes it look pristine when it TOTALLY isn't! LOL

Really likin' the big two headed bad guy. Sort of chunky, like the original was made from wood. Which reminds me, is it true that real old days plastics had wooden prototype sculpts?

I saw that...totally insane.....I don't know HOW someone could butcher this guy like this.....

I can only think that maybe it was indeed a child's toy at some point and the spikes were removed for safety reasons.....but UGH....killed me to see that.
