Post I need more astro-mu 5!!!
I don't have any, but I would love to learn more about them, after reading about them in the mook, i'm slowly becoming more and more fascinated by them. They are by far the coolest toys I've read about it the longest time. If any skullbrainers have any, can you please share some pics!!! How do the button on the body make their heads bobble??? Any pics of the figs with their helmets off??? Any pics of the header card art??? Any links to great sources would be greatly appreciated too!!! Thanks!!!

No header cards, only boxes or blister cards with photos.

Button on back nods the head up and down, button on the front moves head left to right.

Ahh the youthful enthusiasm of discovering the genius of Astro Mu-5..I still have it too!!!....just like when I picked up the 1st issue of S7 when it landed at GR LA.

Why did the 1st S7 and now 1st Mook have Killer AM-5 articles....cause Astro Mu- 5 RULES!!!!!!

Good Luck Mangakaben !!! Me and Flynn will outbid all Brains on the stuff we need still ...so be warned !!! LOL!!!

Flynn....Id say you've said Too Much...but you turned me on to these tooso what can I say except Thanks!!! LOL!!!

Care to share any pics of your collections~

I am prepared to face the realitiy that I may never actually own a AM5 fig, I'd just love to see them in person and play wiht them for a bit to expirence their genius first hand is the most I can hope for at this point. I want to see all the details in their costumes, the craftsmanship on them are amazing and just staring at those beautiful pics in mook is not enough! Have other toys try to go in the same inovative direction as AM5? Just thinking about all the things that make a AM5 special sends shivers down my spine, and the thing that they materialized out of nothing other than what the creators thought were cool, is too awesome! They are all amazing but so far Astro Earth and Evil Bado are my favs! They are now my holy grails, and I know i'm gonna have to get in the back of a looooooooooooooooooooooong line~

But while I'm waiting can anyone please tell me more??? :D

Hey Manga....I was kidding...sorta LOL!.....you WILL get some for sure if it remains important for awhile.

One day I will get a good camera and post pics...the 1st S7 and the Mook have great pics for reference though.

I started with the 1st S7 issue...then Minis...they are super cool and a bit easier to find...I Still Need the Black 3"eyed" villan with Red Spray and havent even started with Robos...missle Fire Bodies ,Tanks or that background set thing...I dont know what to call em.

I paid thru the nose to get some pretty damn clean nodders and ...but if you dont mind a little damage to the plastic body and missing parts it will make your search Much easier.

I actually scored 1 thru Thee Ramos/S7....check the S7 store Vintage section often...ya never know what pops up in there....then its gone!
Seriously Id advise keeping AM-5 sorta on the DL LOL...cause I still need some.LOL!!!...but the MOOK is out and AM-5 is Obscure....maybe this will bring them outta the closets or maybe its gonna get even harder to find em.
I doubt many were made and doubt many remain.

Everyone that really digs AM-5 I wish Luck and will help if I can,I Only ask that you PM me before bidding on something Me or Flynn is already on and I will do the same if you PM me your ID or its obvious/same as SkullBrain. This way we dont run the $$$ up on each other for no reason.

All Astro Mu 5 are equally Awesome......the Villans rule too!
Anyone that digs Astro Mu 5 is cool by default !!!

Image astro mu were not the only line of nodders nakajima made but they sure seem to be the most popular ! this pic is the line up of rainbowman nodders . zone fighter also had a line up of nodders along with gatchaman . mach baron and huracander polymer were also made but are larger and didnt have removable suits . gatchaman might be the most expensive line to collect as i just recently seen a mib ken go for around 3 grand .

Growing up, longboarders were spurned. Old crusty men on their fugly logs just getting in the damn way. No style, nothing off the lip, ever, just lame surfing. My friends and I promised to never bow to the ranks of these fogies.

The idiocy of youth hid the fact that longboards are the only real viable tools in Oregon surf. After having my shortboard ripped off my leash and getting stuck swimming out in the heaviest surf I'd ever been in my life, some self-preservation seeped into my thick skull. I promised I'd buy a longboard if I could just make it into shore. . .

In purchasing a custom surfboard in the past I never put any thought to any graphics, just functionality. Now, with my values crushed and in tatters, I needed something seriously powerful to salve my wounds. The only thing that came to mind to make this entry into old-man crusterhood a little less painful was, well, Astro Mu 5. Specifically, Devil Bado. I designed and had a 8'3" hi performance longboard built. I originally intended for this to be a Nakajima-logo board, but I was never satisfied with the graphics. It became the Bullmark Devil Bado hi performance longboard. Here is the top:

Thank you everyone for sharing, i never had so much fun just looking at toys! Mike that pile of AM5 is too much and ur surf board isnt too shabby either! Koji your pics have made Evil Bado my favorite kaiju baddy! Man I got to get that capsule robo g jumbo machinder!!! The fact that you can place the 10 inch figures in the robo blows my mind! Some ones got to bring these play elements back into vinyl toys. Toys now a days are still fun, but there's nothing like vintage vinyl. I do not know anything about vintage vinyl, but from what little I had read, they are chalk for of hours upon hours of fun. I look at all my "new vinyl, I love it, but I don't really play with them unless I swap their parts around or fill them up with stuff, i guess the bottom line it feels like these new vinyl were not meant to be played with. Of course you can do whatever you want wiht your toys, its urs and its up to you. I wish I had a nodding chaos~

Thanks again for sharing doods! I wish I had some to show off too! Hopefully one day i will!
