How can I tell if my space giants toy is a reissue
So this is my first post on sb..
I bought an ambassador figure from space giants recently and was wondering what the tell-tale signs of an original one or a reissue are. I haven't ever had any bullmark toys (aside from the godzilla blind boxes from a few years back) so I'm not really sure what to look for. The figure itself has a bullmark logo on it but it also has some characters stamped on the foot that look more recent. Thanks so much!

If the four characters are black ink that looks like it has penetrated the vinyl it is a reissue. Those characters are BANDAI in kata-kana. Other than that can you post a picture so we can see for sure?

akumizer has the giant size original if im not mistaken as well as the bullmark standard size . also , he has the ark version and i think he told me its not a re issue of the bullmark as the kaiju are but an original mold that looks almost identical .

I know now that his name is actually Magma, but he'll always be Goldar to me. I want one of these. A vintage would be great, but I'd settle for the repro. Did they ever make a 'transforming' version of Magma, with him halfway turned into rocket form? Also, did they make vinyls of the rest of the family?

No they didnt make vinyls of the rest of the family. Alltho I think they may have made some toys for Methuselah. Rodak was done as well as most of the kaiju.
I always wanted a vinyl of Rodak's ship, dont think anyone ever made one.

Thanks for the info, Akumaizer. I think I've seen photos of the Rodak vinyl, but I don't even remember what his ship looked like.

 Here's the partial family.....
The rarest are the smallest and the largest.....
I've only included the vinyls in my collection for this pic.
There are of course other toys of Magma Taishi (and Rodak)

Damn. That Marmit version and the 'Unknown' ones are my favorites. But then again, anything GID ain't so bad either. I found a nice information resource about some of the other toys: http://www.powerslamcollectibles.com/spacegiants1.htmlIt's kind of a cruddy site, design-wise, but has lots of info. and pictures. Just click the Space Giants 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. links.

Haha ya I stumbled across the site of the ebay seller who was involved in the model kit fiasco while trying to find info on my toy. Seems quite an ordeal.

I recently won a Goldar but I'm not sure who made it.It was listed as Vintage Japan Toy.I believe its the same one Akumaizer has in his pic labeled bagged mid sized orange. Is the brand Orange?I'm curious to know what year it was made.I just got it today heres a pic http://www.mycitrusland.com/del5.JPGthanks

The trademark on the packaging looks like an "Orange" vinyl.
