Great line up! Can't go wrong with a Mechanikong, one of my favorite vintage sculpts.

Thanks everyone.

Steve, That would be interesting to see if the M1 repro Moguera is thinner. It could just be my pic, shot from slightly lower than the toys making him look chunkier, or like you said, maybe it is seeing him next to others for scale.

As for the Mechanikong, I took a bit of a gamble on him since I bought him via auction and the pics weren't that great, but that gamble really paid off this time: paint is very nice and the joints are super tight. There's a bit of an indent under the belt, near the hip, but it doesn't bother me.

I'm with you Jordan, Mechanikong is one of my absolute favorite vintage sculpts too. I am beyond thrilled to have him.

This pic really rates a roll-over - great gang, Paul, and extra points for chronological placement!

Here are some (poor) shots of my favorite display. I am in the process of rearranging my collection and will post shots in the future. In the mean time, hope you enjoy these.

Wow Mark I'm always dying to see shot of your toys! Spectacular collection. That top shelf with dinos is pretty drool worthy!

Wow Mark, fantastic collection. Really superb figures, and an excellent assortment of colours and sculpts. If I had to pick out some personal favourites, it would have to be the Hawaii sprays Baltan, Red King, and Gorbagos. Not only are they some of my favourite kaiju toys, the colours you have there are simply spectacular. Amazing paint work and superb condition. I am blown away. I also really like the baby blue Pegila hiding out in the back of the middle shelf.

Amazing Mark! Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys. There is a lot of time, energy, and $$ in that case, but the variety of monsters and all the bright colors make very happy every time I look at it and that makes it all worthwhile.

Chris: I'll try not to be droll next time I post. Hoping that was a typo
Steve: The Baltan is actually a Bon Festival version as is the Antler (see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=44534&hilit=festival+baltan ), the Gorbagos is a vintage GID, and the blue Pegila is by Supersol from Argentina w/ blow molded body and squishy rubber head.
Bill: A tiny cabinet filled w/ Iwakura HGs would be fantastic, but here is where I keep my Iwakura HGs:

Working on filling another one w/ hard plastic dinos.

Wow, Mark. Your collection is blowing my mind! Those Hawaiian versions - Neronga, Baragon, Gabora, ... So much crazy goodness.

Um... trying not to salivate all over my keyboard! Your room must have that lovely vintage smell, and to think that all of these toys were very "common", less than 50 years ago! Those poor little guys in the lamp--they make me think of little fishies swimming to the top to try to escape, but in this case, only to be befuddled by the cap! :x :D

Quick question, and I am embarassed to ask, because I forgot his name   ...who is
Image
I know he's a Bullmark, and his name escapes me, but I wouldn't mind going back in time in Mr. Wizard's Way-Back machine, to pick up a whole ARMFUL of these!!! :P :P :P

P.S. Love the Yonezawas!!!
P.P.S. and the cabinet is quite nice too!

Sharp eye Grace! That guy is Guiro Seijin from Ultraman Leo. It is difficult to tell from that photo of him, but I think he is actually painted on flesh vinyl, which makes him ever cooler.

Image

Unfortunately he is one of those great monsters who hasn't been reissued [yet] but Marmit has done a version of him as well, which can serve as a stand-in until you can track down a vintage one.

Thank you Steve! :P and thank you for the photo and the reissue info. Marmit does a good job on the original  . I feel sorry for Guiro Seijin, as he seems very cute and accomodating, not at all like a monster! Ooooooooooo!!! Be careful with those antennae :x

Oops, just to clarify Grace, that is another close-up shot I posted of the original Bullmark one for reference. The Marmit one looks a bit different, kinda more cartoony like their PB stuff. (these images are a bit squished, so he looks wider)

Darn! :x
I knew it couldn't be that easy! :|
It's like Brian's dream....(wouldn't that make a nice movie!) *POOF* you wake up only to learn that the toy has virtually slipped through your fingers...

Aaah! Well Spotted Grace! Giro is one of my favorites too. Marmit actually released a couple other versions, but it does look a bit different than the original. I settled for the keshi version. (not really  )

I sort of wonder what Mark and the Missus would do, if I stormed in their house, grabbed a GIGANTIC armful, and rolled around in all that toy goodness

Corrected  I get excited when I see great vintage toys, sometimes that translates to non hand eye coordination.
