Marusan/Bullmark Sculptors (Where are they now?)
THE ARTISTS BEHIND THE SCULPTS?
Have you ever thought about the people who were behind original Marusan/Bullmark sculpts? I heard that in the new S7 Mook, Hirota Keiji (the man behind the 1960's Marusan Red King) will be interviewed.
These people were true artists, but does anyone know any information about them as I always thought that they were either anonymous or had just been forgotten about?
It'd be cool to know who was behind some of my favorite Ultra-Vinyl.Favorite Vinyl Sculpt anyone? The Marusan Gomora's pretty classic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44719116@N ... otostream/?

Hirota Keiji will be in the new mook. He did about 50% of the sculpts and EVERY wax marusan and Bullmark made. Kind of mid-boggling.

I can't believe that not only is it known who sculpted these early vinyl, but it was down to pretty much one person. I love the general 'hand sculpted' feel that they have, particularly the Marusan Red King. Roll on Mooky...
