Zazahn is great, one of the best Bullmark minis in my mind. Yours looks to be in great shape too. One of those guys that's tops on my list when I have the extra funds. Here's a Garan I grabbed too. The seller originally had it as the 'Hawaii' version, but I think it is the only one. More of a mid-sized sculpt. I love his crazy fishness in this version, much less goofy than the actual Ace chouju.

I love this thread and have been after a mini red king for a long time. Complete rookie question but how much do they usually run? I'm aware of the yja prices on the other minis but just curious (for those that own it) how much they paid.

I don't own one, nor do I claim to be any kind of 'expert' on these but I think it all depends on which small size you're looking for Bryce. Pendants and mini's I've seen go reasonably cheap but mid sized Bullmarks (think 5 inch Butanohana size) really seem to command higher prices, especially that blue painted Red King. Some people here would know way more than me about it though.

Generally the more common minis sell for around 1500-3000 yen. Here is a mini red king from earlier this month I forgot to bid on  I have the pendant version but not the basic mini.

Thanks both of you. Yes ^^ That's the one I'm looking for. I saw that there are 2 different versions but I think the yellow version is obviously the more coveted of the two.

Bryce, I won my mini Redking on the bay for about $50 bucks.
Not much paint on it at all so I'm not sure what one with more would go for.
I kinda like it this way though. It looks like he's carved out of stone.

My turn to contribute. First picture....a small Bullmark King Zaurus 3rd. 2nd picture....small Bullmark Black Giras, Ultraman Leo, and Red Giras respectively. Were those 3 sold as a set originally? I have seen other pics of them together and was wondering about it. :?

Definitely! You have selected some real winners there to start off your mini Bullmark collection. Really nice to see you have some coverage of a few 'lines' as well. So were these picked up at any shop there in particular, and what was your criteria? Always love to hear Japan shopping stories. The figures you picked up are in really nice shape to boot, still nice and bright with good paint coverage.

Hell yes! The Year of the Horse can be whatever year that brings new Dodong goodness into your life. Great to see that so much of the delicious green spray is still in place.

Oh, that is such a lovely mini Dodongo Rei! (I wonder if he has two mini persons inside him?) I definitely need to hunt one of those down still for my vintage mini family. Lovely sculpt, impractical tiny wings and all, and as David said, really nice green paint on the cream vinyl.

Indeed, it was love at first sight with this lil' Dodonkey!

Hi ultrakaiju,

These particular ones in the pics I picked up when I got home, I brought three or four when i was in Japan, (will add more pics soon) most from a shop called golden age toys, I really didn't have any criteria, I went into the shop and just loved everything in the huge cabinet full of vinyl, loved the larger ones but noted they came with large prices! The minis were much more affordable and actually really nice. On another note where do you guys get all your info on these little monsters? Is there a book? Website? I remember there were a few minis I saw whilst in Japan that were very expensive, any price guide exist? Thanks

There are a few books you can find that will have the minis in them, but, like most of the 'bibles' in this hobby, you will have much better luck in Japanese sources. The text will be a challenge, but if you are not familiar with Japanese publishing at all, the benefit here is that, often enough, their normal books are like photo books unto themselves, and so you will be graced with tons of beautiful images you can pour over and examine, even if the specific product details might be lost. As for a website, ClubTokyo is as good a place I can think of to start off, and has a great database section devoted to the minis:

http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/subCa ... ubCatID=13

And, I will mention here since it is of interest, that you might also want to look into the Yamanaya packages of these fellows. They reissued a whole bunch of the characters, some in different versions to the original counterparts. If you are not solely stuck on only vintage toys, the 'neo' minis are great too. They are fantastic toys, of really nice quality, and can be found relatively easily (and more affordably). They make an excellent addition to a vintage set, or just as placeholders for the time being until you can track down the vintage versions. I have got no problem at all loving both. :)

Nice paulk! All are nice but I'm so fond of Gigasu and Windam! I've been after that mini gigasu forever. Mental note to self: in 2016 at least try to find some mini Bullmark monsters.

Re: Mini Bullmarks

Sat Jan 02, 2016 12:06 pm

Gigasu is definitely a personal favourite of mine, though I admit I have a 'collect-em-all' addiction when it comes to all versions of that character. What a lovely set of minis Paul. They all have such wonderful character. I am continually amazed at how much fun and detail is captured in such a little toy. They are the perfect entryway for collectors into the vintage market, affordable but top notch.

Congrats on the collection Paul, wishing you good luck with growing the family. :)

Mini Bullmarks just put a big ol smile on my face when I see them.

That mini Garamon further up the page is pure perfection.
