Post Jamira (or Jamila as the case might be...)
Hey Guys,

Just wondered if there happened to be any fans of Jamira out there, and if you maybe wanted to post some pics of what you've got? I have a couple Bullmark re-issues (in the pic below... the only one pic I have on hand right now...), and I'm searching for a good full-size (probably 80's 'vintage' - or even a newer re-issue) over the next couple of months. I'm not finding a whole bundle of this guy around, but I think he's AWESOME, so I'd love to see what's out there!

Thanks!

I don't have the pics on me at the moment, but there are a couple different Bandai releases out there (a quick google search will turn them up). Most common now is the 'EX' version. I hunted down for quite a while to find the one I liked, with more of a 'vintage' paint style to him, but I think he is still late 80s or early 90s. I would love to find a vintage figure, but would settle on a mini any day. As for reissues, there are definitely some B-Club versions out there which I am sure you can find for sale. I have a bright orange one I really like. Check out this thread for some variants:

Thanks ultrakaiju! I had a look at that thread, and the orange 9" is the one I've seen a couple times at Nakano Broadway now. I just don't care for the silver spray on him, so I would prefer to find the pink version.... price might get in the way though. Maybe a little thinner treatment and some new paint :-P The ornage re-issue I'vve seen for 2800JPY, so that's not so bad.

Anyway, I'll keep looking and get images posted up if I find anything! thanks!

I've always been fond of the poor former astronaut known as Jamila - I thought the debate on the show over what to do about him was so sad when I was little.
I was just thinking about him the other day, as I pulled all my capsule toys out of storage and discovered my Soul of Bullmark Jamila had gone legless!
Image
In the same shot you can see a third variation of the same toy you have. It's an original sculpt by Bear Model, btw, rather than a reissue.

The articulated Medicom toy of him is pretty cool, but I think, barring finding a Bullmark original, that the pink B-Club reissue is the one to beat!

yeah, I would suggest you remove that picture.... please do.

It might be better to find another one to show how Japanese kids pretend to be Jamila.... :-/

On a less disturbing note - Sorry about the legless guy... Otherwise a fantastic toy! I'll keep searching for something besides the orange color-way.

Jamila = Cornholio! What a crack up.

This is certainly not vintage, and SB seems to hate on Touma, but a couple years ago he did some Ultraman gashapon keychains. I liked his take on Jamila and Ultrman as well.

I hadn't even made the connection to Cornholio! Hillarious! And true!

Dang, sometimes great bargains do come along. I'd love to find myself a tub of minis. Nice find, I recommend a repeat trip

And SCORE! Found the guy I'd been hoping to find - at 'Golden Age' in Akihabara  the little minis were a gift from the lady who runs The Gojiraya in Koenji - also exciting scores! I'll have to paint one for her :)
