Any of you knowledgeable peeps out there recognise this character?
Kinda looks like a cross-between Jet Jaguar and Ultraman to me . . . .

Jumborg Ace! I think he was a plane that changed into a super hero.

Yamanaya did some great standard sized versions of both Jumborg Ace and his counterpart 9, in a couple different versions. I have some and really enjoy them. There are some vintage versions as well, but the licensed versions are much less common and will cost you a fair amount. You can pick up some mini bootlegs of them fairly easily as well. You might also recognise this as being the show that spawned Alien Emerald and Cain, which were made in excellent versions by Buta no hana.

Funny that you mention the connection to Ultraman, as he was a Tsuburaya creation (one of the shows made to celebrate the company's tenth annniversary), and the film with the Jumborg-A and Giant characters marked one of two collaborations with Chaiyo of Thailand (the other being the The 6 Ultra Brothers vs. the Monster Army) before relations between the two soured considerable - and which then left us all as fans worse off for cutting off the international market from access to any quality Tsuburaya releases for subsequent future. :x Anyway, the more you know right?

^^ Thanks for the info!

The reason for this post is a French guy called Claude Estèbe on Flickr.
He goes by the Flickr name 'Colodio' and i'm a fan of his photography.

Sometimes he asks questions about the toys he photographs. They are
usually cheap toys & bootlegs. Check him out . . . .
