Lixx wrote:Andy how is the non translucent version vinyl wise? I own the clear version and it's like a rubber duckie squishy toy, very very soft vinyl. Is the non clear squishy as well? Definitely agree it's my favorite sculpt of Ninja Arashi. Actually barring the standard and popy sized villains (oh and Giant Majin Sai!), most Ninja Arashi bootlegs are better than the licensed versions IMO.

Its the same as a normal vinyl. Not super squishy. Agreed, these two are some of my favorite toys. The painted one took me a long time to find for some reason.

Yeah, same here. My clear version is really squishy, and the aqua marine blue base one is harder.

They're both a lot tougher to find than the 5" Popy style bootlegs or the standard sized 8" boots.

Devilman Bootleg
Maybe it's one of the most common bootlegs, but it's one of my favorites.

I was going to say, that was a cool set. Some of the rarest sets from back in the day were packaged like that, with 5 or 6 mini figures sticking out, almost like a gachapon daishi.

Here's a poly Gekko Kamen to get us back on the vintage track:

Great poly Kamens guys! I also dug these toys, but could never figure out why they gave them that huge stance. It seems like there must be some odd, practical reason or production quirk to it, but it sure is fun to see.

I am especially laughing at that duo/triple pack. The inclusion of the dinosaur mini is so off-base and half-assed, you really have to wonder what kind of day that guy was having. :P But what an amazing header!! The characters are unbelievable; now I must have a three-eyed Barry toy. And that running 'Ultra' where is looks like he is in costume and wearing one of those plastic child's masks. Fantastic! Thanks for sharing guys.

I like both of those headers. They're remarkable. I think even though I collect soft vinyl toys from across the timeline, I can say with confidence that my favorite headers are vintage or vintage by design. I could easily collect them by themselves.

And I thought I had one ;)

Thanks, andy. I really enjoy this set too. With some of the characters being the Only versions of em that I've ever cared to own... It's probably a long shot, but due to how much I've realized I like them, I want to seek out those rarer sets and others of the like.

Andy, do you or anyone here know the average amount that they seem to go for?

The older licensed mini sets can sell for $300-$500 and up - often finger puppet types based on anime and obscure properties - some heady stuff!

And a very nice Gekko + mini boot set there as well! I have a couple of multi packs like that. I'll try to dig them up and take shots.

Heady indeed. Thank You, Andy.

Even if they're a little too rich for my blood at the moment, I'm still going to add them to my search. There are always surprises to be had.

Okay, admittedly this is a bit different than the usual focus of this topic, but I do so love these cheap rack toys and KOs. This one is not mine, but in terms of 'creative' licensing for bootlegs, I don't think it gets much more fun. I honestly could go for a whole line of these.

I guess this is aimed at a girls' action figure market? But really, who cares, it is a delight. :)

It´s like a Adventure Time character. :D

This is super cool, everything about it is just bonkers. I love it! I agree though, I'd sucker for a whole line like this! It sort of like She Ra meets Power Rangers and hangs out with Gatchaman for the day. Or something.

Excellent winged bootleggy colors and card art!!

I am glad people are diggin' it. Admittedly Chinese (though of course the Japan sofubi connection is there), and newer era, but a great little piece of weirdness and fun. I have to agree the card art makes it as well, and I would love to see if there is [an]other character made in this line - maybe with a different head. The Voltron sword is just a great little bonus, too.

Removable masks heroes are just the bees knees for me; so great and I never tire of them. You picked up a really nice bootleg with that Ninja Arashi. The colourful sword is stellar, it is so nice to see inside the baggie like that, and once again we can such a nice example of the incredible artwork that graced the packages of these bootleg toys. That one in particular is as good or better than any licensed art; it really has a wonderful dark, moody feel, stylized but not cartoony, and a classic 'Edo'-era inspired action shot of the two in battle. I just love it. Very nice man, thanks for sharing the pics with us.
