I'm gonna be in NYC on 10/14 through 10/17 and wanted to know if there's anything cool going on during those days. Live shows, art gallery exhibits, movies...anything!

Planning on doing the usual (Toy Tokyo, record shopping, etc.) but wanted to make sure that I don't miss any events.

Banksy opened a pet shop in NYC last week. It's running till the end of the month and the exhibit is pretty incredible. He's also put a few big murals up that are all pretty great. Info about the pet shop is here:

Blek Le Rat has a gallery show going at Levine Gallery but I can't remember if it opens on the 16th or the 17th.

Funny, when this thread started Mishka store at 350 Broadway wasn't even opened yet. Hit them up and then skate over to the peel session under the BQE to get your filming on. LSD is long gone but there's a good Japanese restaurant in its place. Me, Greg and gazpacho hit that up the other day. TT has a sick new location definitely worth checking out.

Yeah the new TT is a one stop shop. You'll find something you need. You could hit Giant Robot too. Toy selection is limited, and My Plastic Heart. Actually TT, Giant Robot, My Plastic Heart, are pretty close in proximity. I think MPH closes at like 5 or 6.

Sweet, thanks guys. Mishka is definitely on my to-go list as well, so I'll be sure to stop in there as well. I haven't even been to the city since it's opening, so it'll be my first time checking it out.

Glad I made the stop over to Mishka... such a cool store. Grabbed the Morbius Bootleg, a hat, and a knot of stickers. Ended up staying in Brooklyn that weekend, but venturing back over to hit the toy shops tomorrow.

Oh, and that little iron-bar toy case is fucking sweet too.

You're probably already aware, but just in case, Forbidden Planet is right across the street from Union Station. It's a great comic shop I like to visit for sofubi, gokin, etc. Other Music is also a great, non-toy stop.

LSD was great, even though I could never afford anything there. Back in the 90's they were asking $20- $30 a pop for loose, complete Kenner ROTJ figures. When you live and collect in the mid-west those prices are insane.

What's this about a new TT location? Did this happen recently? I guess it's been almost a year since I've been there.

TT is still on 2nd ave just a couple blocks south of the old store. It's ground level. Bigger. More stuff displayed.

That's good news. I remember the last time I was at the old location I had to contort my body to be able to enter the (then) newest room where they had all the sofubi.
