i've been in chicago for a good seven years now, and i'm still amazed by how much
there is to discover out there. and now that i've finally gotten off my ass and jumped
back into photography, i've started a few projects to document some of my personal
favorites. but i want to know/see/learn more, and who better to hassle than our own
beloved CASK? so let's see your chicago pics, people... hidden gems to tourist traps,
doesn't really matter.

so here's what i did with my day off on friday... it's "the brown line in black & white":





i shot 6 rolls of 120, and over 80 digital shots from the 28 brown line stops on the el.
so this is just a small preview... much more once the film gets processed and prints
get scanned!

so i finally got back the scans from the six rolls of 120 i shot for "the brown line in black
& white." this is just a small selection... and honestly, if you've got feedback, please feel
free to say something. i've had a lot of positive response to this project, and even a few
"you should do a show" comments. (me? in a galley show? who'd have thunk it?)

Great shots! What kind of 120 camera do you have?

i'm using a diana f+ with a 55mm wide angle lens. it's definitely a cheap camera (well, unless you
get all hipster-ized, then the price point starts going up =p). i found it a great entry into a medium
format, and there are definitely some "interesting" characteristics to an all-plastic camera. and i've
come to love it because the rangefinder aspect of the camera really makes it a surprise once you
develop the roll. (i mean you know what you shot, and what you framed is close to what you'll end
up with, but there's always something a little off...)

you definitely have a good eye for composition!

ah, the good old tlr's... i usually lean towards lubitel, bu i have heard (some) good things
about the seagulls. do you know if they're bakelite/plastic bodies as well? there are some
models out there that are metal construction, or at least i think there are...
