boiling point
not only is it a classic piece of cinema... nor it is simply 100º C (212º F) where water is concerned... (and i didn't even realize it was a first person shooter video game)... it seems to be where this board is at. there are more than anyone's fair share of argument simmering in any number of threads around here... and i'm rather a bit curious as to why. i though we CASK'ers, the sane, rational bunch that we are, might have a little discussion about this... that is, if anyone cares to join in. and it's not restricted to us here in chi-town, but i figured we'd get less random traffic in here, so we may be able to keep the discussion rational a little easier on our own turf. so, any thoughts?

Re: boiling point
Funny you started the thread by pulling out a gun. I thought that was a Texas thing. Yeee haw!
I think there is actually a much lower degree of bad blood on this board than many in the online world. It just comes and goes in waves. Some of the real arch personalities haven't really been on the board in ages. Maybe I should have never re-created the F-you thread, although that has seemed pretty safe. Seems most of the personal or near personal stuff has been throwing down elsewhere.

Re: boiling point
for bill: is it really that simple? it could be... and i hope it's not my own naiveity that makes me say this, but i think acceptance of that as fact is just the easy way out. it definitely doesn't do much to change anything. which i guess begs the bigger question, is it even worth the effort?
for blake: didn't you know? ben hicks is from deepinnahearta, texas... as to the bigger picture, i can kind of see what you mean, but there has been a rapidly rising propensity for the smallest of things to launch us into a near frenzy of righteous indignation. (okay, maybe i'm exaggerating, but there have been plenty of disproportional responses that get escalated into ridiculous levels...)

Re: boiling point
hmm, i get what you're saying. guess I haven't quite noticed. maybe I'm reading fewer threads these days because i simply can't buy anything. I imaging people are mad about Grodys and Paul's toys, no? Maybe a lot of people are just pissed at their daily life and it's spilling over. I try to keep a positive attitude, but I deal with a lot of suck these days and it's not easy. I mean, just look at what I have to deal with.

^ lol. i also wondered about blake's role in that scene. (if my hunch is correct, he's actually the shopping cart.)

Re: boiling point
I blame the following people
1 blooddrinker6969 2 ultra999 3 sbbenhcs
I've met these guys in public and they are cruel and dispicable people!
Ahhh, just kidding, they are awesome.
It makes me sad that the board is such a bummer right now. Oust the flipper is on page 23 and then Rich's attempt at making a positive thread is at 3. They are just toys and all of these guys will make more. A wise man once said in a movie "patience, Daniel-son."

Re: boiling point
Just want to send out some positive vibes. Saw a couple of the CASK guys Friday night and I just want to say, although it's hard for us all to get together, when we do it's awesome!
