Post Wizard World Chicago...we're going, are you?
Oh yes...just a few more weeks before Wizard World happens!

We're going to have a booth (no number yet...can you believe it?) and there all four days. We've actually been sitting on a ton of product just so that 'con goers get first crack at it before the general public.

Anyone else going?

I'll be there Sat

my buddy is in artist alley and he hasn't got a table number yet either. What can we expect? If you bring toygraph or M1go I'll be your friend :D

Yeah, we'll have some M1, Marusan, CCP and a few others - unfortunately nothing along the lines of Toygraph, but more Secret Base than you can shake a stick at!

The goofy thing is that you need a booth number if you want to order electricity early and save $100. No booth number and that goes up to nearly three bills on the 28th! Will WW give us credit for not supplying the booth number? Prolly not...

Psh, just go candle light! I'm probably going. I have the time off and I have nothing going on and unless some BS comes up I'm up in it.

We actually decided to skip the electrical this time around. The credit card swipe we use runs on the cellphones so we should be more than fine...as long as a signal holds out!

This should be a good show - it looks like they're trying to compete a bit with C2E2 and their selection of entertainment guests to bring in the non-comic book crowd.

well, hell... if edward furlong is going to be there, i just HAVE to go. =p might try to make it out
there, stop by artists' alley and whatnot. went last year, and was terribly disappointed. (was also
disappointed in myself because i only had two shoes to throw at blago when he showed up.)

I will say that I'll be curious to see how this turns out. C2E2 was a blast and overall success...WWC could be, although I haven't really seen much advertising for it. The last WWC that I went to was well over 10 years ago and I'm sure by now it's become more corporate. The bill for the booth was higher than C2E2 and the lack of response from the Wizard group has been a bit of an annoyance. But you know, it's more about the crowd than anything for us. We love to get to talk and meet with people!

They've been on Groupon and Yelp with discount tickets, so I think that the turnout will be more than you think.

i laughed at this... out loud. last year's show left me with the impression that this show was on
the decline, with most people favoring c2e2. (and by people i mean huge, company booths.)
wizard world felt more like an indoor flea-market. and so horribly laid out... almost needed a
machete to get down an isle. but for me, cons have been more about going and meeting and
talking to the artists, not so much the vendors or publishers, so a nice artists' alley is all i really
ask for.

Post Re: Wizard World Chicago...we're going, are you?
Also people who aren't actively into comics/toys/etc (nerds) mostly ONLY know about Wizard World still. So if the casual crowd were to pick C2E2 or WW they mostly hit WW because that's what they know, as where I think a lot of the nerd core-audience has left WW behind for C2E2. Like I have friends who don't know crap about comics/toys (but wikipedia comic characters when a movie hits so to pretend they know, assholes) and they'll be like "Going to Wizard World dude?" and I'll say "Maybe, but C2E2 already happened and was way better" with that they respond "C2 whaaaaat?"

I don't care so much about big companies there as I do the market and artists alley. I don't need more free posters advertising the next big mega event in DC or Marvel I'll most likely hate.

I would love to come out to WW, but I'm going to have to pass again this year.. With the wedding coming up August 27th, I'm 1)not going to have any money for this ans 2)n=things are going to get very busy around here and probably won't have the time..

I have been to C2E2 and G-Fest this year, so that will be good enough for me.
Hope you guys will have a ton of fun at WW! Take plenty of pics and post them up so that I can see what I missed

SO...it looks like we will be booth #911...as far as we know. I have to say that WWC hasn't been the most organized bunch of people but it was pretty cool we were able to pick out our location.

Is it right next to Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake? Because that's the location I would have chose. I would have asked how it was to watch Marti Janetti get thrown through a window.

So what's up, are most of us hitting it Sat? I'm more tempted to go Sun just to see if I can squeeze last day deals outa dealers but I don't know anyone else going and if you guys are only going Sat I'm cool to hit it then too.

Wasn't sure if there was a meet up planned either, but we can play it loose.

No meet up or anything planned. We'll be there Sat and Sun, go to Jamie's booth #3347! He's got some awesome prints and his book is good, and we will be around there.
