Post Pheonix Scene Report - and the big Lulubell Show
I know Pheonix is an "emerging scene" or something, its been written up in the NYTimes so it must've been amazing a few years ago (not a knock on Pheonix mind you, but the NY Times is notorious for writing up hip "new" things about 7 years after they were actually new). I've read about the Art Scene there a few years back and it seemed to be thriving and not looking to get in good with the "big city" scenes like LA, and SF, or NYC. For an out of the loop (to Pheonix anyways) East Coaster Dehara, Le Merde and Wilfred Wood are serious firepower. Was the show well attended? Did the locals snap up the best pieces first? Whats the other things to do and see over there in ol' Pheonix town.
PS Half of the Hiberts live there so I know its fresh :) Let us know locals.

the show was phenomenal! i drove down from phoenix/scottsdale to tucson. took about an hour and a half to get there. once my friend and i arrived there was one other person waiting for lulubell's to open. once the doors had opened i picked up 3 le merde and 2 dehara pieces. the turn out was actually far more than what i had expected. the place was crowded by the time i had to leave.

sucks when you have to go back to work after such a pleasant event. :(

I drove down from Chandler with some friends to attend the show. When we first got to Lulubells there were a few people. Then it just got packed! Great crowd, everyone had fun. He had a DJ there for music. It looked like a mix of toy fans and curious art walk people. I think Luke and his people helped turn on some of the locals to the scene. It was a rad show, they did a great job!

We are trying to contribute to the scene here in Phoenix as well, in the Roosevelt Row area. I have some of Huck Gees bombs and Bwanas fiberglass Killer proto there. http://www.kollectivartanddesign.com

So it is getting better! :D
