Collection offered locally first.
I have about 40 - 50 kaiju for sale as the first step in offloading a significant part of my collection. They range anywhere from some pocket pieces to some nice hand-painted one offs by the better artists. Most of them were acquired in 2006-2008 but some go up to 2010. Some common, some rare. They range in price from about $15 to $150. However, before I start listing them on SB, I was wondering if anyone living in the Tampa Bay area of Florida would be interested in coming by to see them and have first dibs. This makes it far easier for me. I live in Palm Harbor, just north of Clearwater. If you're in the area and would like to see what I have for the first sell off, PM me or write to me at zna@nursepostcard.com. I have other collectibles besides kaijju too. Eventually this might end with Beamons, Miborahs, and some other great coveted grail type things, but for now I want so divest myself of the $10 to $150 pieces first. Ain't no junk. No bags or headers, but all clean and unblemished. What say ye? If no takers, I'll put them on the for sale forum in a month or so, but that's just time consuming and a hassle to ship. Thanks. Ye zwrdl.

Re: Collection offered locally first.
If anyone is interested, I'll try to make a list, or at least a couple of group shots, but the whole point of this is to avoid having to photograph and list individual pieces. It may take a week or so to do the listing or group shots--I'm hassled for time. But I will put something up if anyone shows interest.

Totally not local, but am interested if there's any Beetlars, Globby or Mongos.. or really just to see your collection. I love seeing other peoples plastic hordes.

Re: Collection offered locally first.
A list or general idea of what brands/ sculpts would be awesome, but maybe James can take a couple of quick group shots. My immediate interests seem to be RxH Tanukis and Kaiju Big Battel Marmit stuff. Oh, and virtually anything Mothra

Re: Collection offered locally first.
Thank you for all the PMS. Sorry I wasn't clear, but from all the messages I got, I must have said something confusing. Let me see if I can clear this up. Apologies if I make it worse.
Most of what was asked for in the PMs is not currently available. I do have bemons, miborahs, and one off hand paints by PK, JH, Koji, Cronic, IP and others, but these are not now for sale.
I want to *start* with the less expensive items. All of what I have is spread out over the apartment, everywhere. In drawers and cupboards, on top of the refrigerator, on table tops and bookcases, etc. I don't want to take photos or make lists.
What I have is not worth driving up from Miami for. In fact, Orlando is probably a stretch, since, as I say, the least valuable (to me) items are going first. Do you really want to drive four hours for say, a Booska Head, Mummy Gator, or a Smoking Star? (Well, there is one Vampire Rose, but not exactly a major piece.)
There used to be a whole local kaiju community near me when Scott Diaz was running the S7 shop in St. Pete, but that seems to have disappeared since he closed the shop. I was hoping to reach out to them. But Tired Children, who literally lives down the road from me, has contacted me and is coming by once we set a time. After he comes by, I will contact the one other person on the list who lives not far from here. If TC wants to take pics and post them, I have no objection, but I will not be mailing any of these items, much less to France or Japan and so on as requested. Not now, anyway.
If and when I decide to divest the entire collection, or more pieces from it, I will set it up so everyone has a fair chance at it. I promise. But for now, unless you live within a hour drive from me, it probably is not worth your time to come visit.
Thanks. Hope this clarifies things.

Re: Collection offered locally first.
Appreciate the well wishes, but actually no--writing the post took about 30 seconds. These things are all over the house, in drawers, on shelves, in cabinets, bookcases, etc. etc. To round them all up, take several pictures, upload the pics and so on, put the items back--would take much longer.
I don't care if they go right now. This is not a distress sale.
On the other hand, if you want to stop by sight unseen and take a look, you are more than welcome to. Everyone's tastes are different as you say: you might find something you like. If you're closer than James, you're about 15 minutes away. But if it isn't worth your time to spend 15 min to take a chance to come by, meet a fellow local kaiju collector, and maybe walk away with something, why should it be worth my time to post the pics for the first run through?
(I can remember driving 45 min into St. Pete and then waiting for hours to get tickets to the sale at the local s7 store when Scott had it running, and then coming back later when it opened just to maybe get an item or two I might like. I was a pretty serious collector. If I knew someone down the street who had 40 kaiju up for grabs, I think I'd take my chances and make the effort no matter what he had. But that's just me. )
I have two folks coming by--maybe they'll buy everything I'm offering. If not, well *then* it might be worth my time to post a formal sale....and you're still welcome to come by.
Cheers and happy collecting.
PS. I have nothing on your lust list. There is one walking hedora, but not the same color as in your wants post.

The most complicated sale / non sale / maybe sale / might have something you want / might not / take a chance / take a look / take a drive, ever! Wow. At least it was amusing, best of luck, I think.

Re: Collection offered locally first.
Thanks. Works for me. If anything's left over, I'll be sure to post it on the forum. Those who know me--most all the locals plus the ones I've dealt with when I was active in the forum several years ago--know I'm fair, not a flipper, and they have a pretty good idea what I own.
If not, "About 40 - 50 kaiju ranging anywhere from some pocket pieces to some nice hand-painted one offs by the better artists, most acquired in 2006-2008 but some go up to 2010. Some common, some rare. They range in price from about $15 to $150." kind of sums it up such that if you live nearby, you probably would be interested.
If I were buying, and lived nearby, I might could probably take an hour out of my busy day to drop by and see a local guy who says he's starting with half a hundred pieces for sale. After all, there are no other in-person outlets here anymore apart from some friends. But on the other hand, there are many folks who aren't hardcore, which is cool. Their attitudes might be to just let the hardcore collectors make the (minimal) effort and wait for something to appear on SB and maybe get it, maybe not.
But it's amazing how many notices and PMs I've had from folks who are concerned that I might not be able to sell everything I want to. I appreciate the concern, I really do, but I'm not all that much in a hurry to divest. In fact, I have mixed feelings about letting go of any of it. But I'm no longer pursuing it the way I once did. I'm into some other things just now. I'd rather have a solid collector give the things a good home. And If I have something not for sale that someone local really wants, maybe I can be talked into it.
I'm just being lazy (should be obvious) while at the same time reconnecting with local folks whom I haven't seen since Scott (stealthtank) closed down the store. I love the community, have great respect for the hobby. And if you live practically right down the street, come on by.
So thank you again for your well wishes. So far it's working out exactly the way I had hoped. I'm sorry if it's not working out the way any one else had hoped, but hey, different strokes, and all that.
When I first got started, I wasn't willing to sell to overseas folks. (That has changed.) So for my first sale, I got slammed, flamed and otherwise berated for that policy. One turd even went so far as to cancel an item I had ordered from him and refunded my money, so annoyed was he. Nasty response to a newbie who didn't know the protocols.
Now, I'm better known in the community, post stuff the way I want and thems as likes what I do buy. Thems as don't, don't.

Re: Collection offered locally first.
Maybe this should be posted in the local area forum since there is nothing actually for sale and you are only reaching out to local collectors. Just a suggestion.

Re: Collection offered locally first.
I have 50 pieces for sale. Well, 40 now. If the moderator wants to move the thread, that's fine by me. I suppose I could duplicate the original posting in the Hinterlands section, but I've already got a pretty good response, so might just as well let it drop away from this point on and put up actual photos if anything is left over by the time all the visitors come by. I'll label it "zwrdl's left over from the local sale sale."

Re: Collection offered locally first.
This is done. Had some good responses. I'll be putting up a "legitimate" sale with descriptions and pictures probably at the end of March. I want to thank everyone who had anything to say about this. Whether or not you thought it was a good idea for me to do it this way in this venue, everyone was polite and respectful, and I gotta say, allowed me to keep the faith in the community. If any of the mods want to take this down or move it, go ahead, but really no need--it's over.
To those who contacted me privately about one piece or another, I'll repeat here what I already said in the PMs. Anything that goes up for sale will be offered first to the forum as a whole. Everyone should have a fair and equal chance--not that I think there's anything super about the kaiju I'm offering, but my policy has always been to post first on the forum, then contact individuals if no takers, and finally (gasp) the Bay if no one in SB wants it.
So, thanks again.
