Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
Im sort of new around here but Im in the area and would like to get down. Might have somethings to trade but I thought some social interaction with like minded people would be fun as well. Is there an official date set yet?

Is anyone not able to go next weekend? And we would probably need some kind of park or another open/public space for the tradefest, unless someone wants to open their home to a bunch of toy nerds Maybe hit up a bar afterwards? I haven't been to philly in years so I don't know a lot

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
Next week is rough for me, just because its so soon, my plans are already set. What if we make it for sometime in August or even Early September? We can plan it a little better, people have enough of a heads up to clear the date on the schedule? If it's gonna be in Philadelphia we should hammer out where its going to be first- I agree about the open place maybe. I live in a small apartment, otherwise I'd host it at my place. But maybe we could meetup over in the courtyard by where Jinxed is- (Scarwars, does that place have a name?) Or over by Penns Landing somewhere- I'm thinking nice open places with decent parking.
For open dates for me I could do the weekend of July 30th if we all wanted, and then the Weekends of August 6, August 20 I believe I will be free, or sometime in September.

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
I vote for a day in early September- that way we can all coordinate for it the best we can. Maybe we can whip up some goodies for the meeting.. who knows! But we haven't heard from too many others- everybody chime in! Phil

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
late summer works better for me, as my next couple of weekends are already spoken for. for a date further out, i can at least try to plan around it.
i'd be bringing mostly super7/gargamel/bwana/le merde, but am looking to branch out a bit to some 'truer' kaiju...

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
Ok, early September it is then! Is September 3rd (labor day weekend) ok or will people most likely have other plans?

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
Ok maybe 2nd weekend of September seems to be the best time so IamMordecai and I can make it, that is if you want to go for sure, IamMordecai . I couldnt make it labor day weekend anyway, Ill be down Ocean City that weekend. Is philly our destination? The most important part of the trip is agreeing on the city were gona meet in first and foremost. Then date and time. Theres plenty of time between now and then to figure this out, I still say lets get it set it stone asap, that way its over and done with and we can all mark it on our calendars.

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
I think Philly is best since it's in between MD and NY. I don't know that much about the city and haven't been there in years though, so hopefully someone local to the area can suggest a more specific location in the city to meet.
Anyone opposed to September 10th?

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
I'm in Michigan and looking for a reason to go to Pittsburgh soon to visit my bestie who wrangled a position as a photo professor at the Art Institute there.... Philly is close to Pitts right? I'm just going to feel kind of lame bringing a B club Kanegon to the party when everyone else has muscle.... How do these things work anyways...?

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
Saw my name mentioned, thanks. Don't plan around my schedule, those first two September weekends aren't good for me, but I will most likely be in Charm City on the 18th if something is going on. However, I have now seen all of The Wire, so I will only show up if the following conditions exist:
- No drugs. - No guns. - No kaiju wearing pants.

Re: Mid-East Coast Meetup?
Much better than anything in Baltimore as well.. We have a store here called Atomic Books which is 99.9% western vinyl, the only reason I ever set foot in that store was to get crap for my kid when he was into Mongers.

They do have a sweet book selection and have loads of comic books (though I don't read any)
