I've started a vegetarian diet, so we won't be at any of the regular haunts. Well knowing Shannon we'll probably go... what if i told you i disapprove of your new lifestyle... would you change then?

Re: burger files
some of the last few burger places i've been these past couple of months: Super Duper (s.f.) solid overall burger and fries. Mission Beach Cafe (s.f.) very good burger. meat was well seasoned and topping were delicious. holy crap... there lavender infused french toast was out of this world!!! FUME (napa) good burger, delicious fries. Andie's Cafe (napa) eh. meat was tasteless. bun did nothing to help soak up the juices. toppings were whatevers.

Re: burger files
pearl's real good burger! phil's sliders little 2 dollars sliders with grass fed beef, home made thousand island, some lettuce, and bread. reccomended, actually. the sodas were delicious! all their own creations. fivetenburger another really good burger. the bread was great! the beef was seasoned just a bit too much. condiments were good.

Re: burger files
sfweekly has a good list of top 25 burgers although a couple of them i wouldn't really consider burger burgers. whatever, still a good list http://www.sfweekly.com/slideshow/the-t ... -35197200/still need to hit up wayfare tavern and lark creek for their burgers.

Re: burger files
Yeah that chopped duck burger isn't exactly what comes to mind, but it sounds real good anyway. If SF can do Korean "tacos" then there's nothing wrong with a Chinese "burger." Great feature, thanks for the link. The froofy Fifth Floor burger looks too tall to be edible, especially in a high end restaurant where you don't want to mess up your clothes. I had a bad experience there once so this is a vengeful cheap shot comment. Interesting how many places didn't make it to the list. Burger Bar, Joe's Cable Car, Bill's Place, Chez Maman ... Oh well "best hamburger" is the new "best burrito." Nobody ever agrees.

Waiting... wrote: 5 guys is meh, they are an ohio company that does not do our fattness justice if you are ever in the cleveland area I'll point you to brown bag burgers now that is some good eating, and they have a trough of peanuts for you while you wait This is incorrect. They are a Virginia based company, based a few miles from my home. Known the owner through my mother since I was young. I think its more consistent than most "chain" burger places. They source local and not many chains that big can say that. Back to your normal burger files.

Re: burger files
Burgers worth trying that haven't been mentioned:
-Wayfare Tavern. It's nopa-ish. Wayfare in general is a solid burger.
-The Plant burger. It's a veggie burger. I know what you're thinking "A veggie burger? It's not even a burger!" Trust me, this bone marrow eating motherfucker will tell you... it's great. Just call it a "sandwich" and don't think of it as a burger. Try it when youre feeling like a fatbody.
-Disco Volante in Oakland. It's pains me to even mention it publicly because I don't want the place overrun with people but I trust Skullbrain. The burger is damn good. In fact the whole menu is top notch. No wait ever, no hype, Good prices and my seal of approval.
-My fathers Office. Mentioned already but I want to see what jesus thinks about it.
-Magnolia. Hey, it may not be as good as Nopa or Marlowe but it is by far the best burger on Haight. That is until Burger Urge opens....

totally worth a call. the s.f. menu doesn't have it. so i'm guessing that it is just a limited time thing (i hope not!)

Re: burger files
went to umami union. no bone marrow burger the day i went. will have them next weekend they say. had the manly burger. it was very tasty. the bacon lardons were nice. overall though, not mind blowing.
they couldn't get my wife's burger correct. not once, not twice, but three times! never had that problem anywhere.

Re: burger files
Joe, Jon (Pollard Hunter) and I went to Umami SF yesterday. The Manly Burger was really good. The Turkey Burger was just ok. But the Scallop and Pork Belly Burger was yummy. The tempura onion rings were soggy. we need to order the cheese tater tots off the menu next time. Also the burgers are really small. Need 1.5 burgers to get you there....
