I really didn't have any time to make reservations so it was all up to where we were at the time. This is what we ended up eating:

Tuesday: We stayed in Pac Heights so we walked down to J-town for dinner. I remembered Jeff mentioning Izumiya so we went over there and I had the Modern-Yaki that he so loves. It hit the spot.

Wednesday: We went over to the Civic Center to check out the food trucks. Had the highly recommended chicken and potatoes from Roli Roti. Also had a Belgium waffle and a couple of onigiri's (Garlic-Bacon one was tasty). After a hike at Muir Woods we went to Little Italy and ate at Giordano Brothers for dinner. Man that coppa sandwich was good. Went to meet up with a friend in the Mission District for a late night snack. First stop was La Taqueria for a chorizo taco "crispy style". Then after checking out some street art we headed over to Taqueria San Jose for some quesadillas. My friend brought me a dozen assorted macarons so I feasted on those for the next couple of days. Good stuff.

Thursday: We went paddle boating at Stow Lake so it was a short drive to Dean's suggestion of Park Chow. I had the Thai Style Noodles and they did not disappoint. We then had to meet someone over at the S.F. Zoo but stopped at Polly Ann for some black sesame ice cream first, my wife's favorite. After the zoo we passed through Richmond so we decided to have dinner at another of Dean's recommendations, To Hyang. Ordered glass noodles, bibimbap, spiced boiled pork belly, and braised ox tail. That ox tail was so damn good.

Friday: Got an all day cable car pass but got stuck at the transfer stop on Powell. Decided to walk to Chinatown. Got some dim sum to go at Mong Kok. My friend from Hawaii requested some beef jerky from Wycen Foods so I headed over there. Got 6 bags of their unmarked, unlabeled jerky. I'll have to try some of it today. At $10/bag it better be good. Walked down to North Beach to get some foccacia at Liguria Bakery but they were sold out. Bummer. So after a chat with Ningyoushi man Omar we walked over to Fisherman's Wharf. Went to the row of cheap seafood vendors and got some clam chowder and calamari & chips. Made the walk from Fisherman's Wharf to the Ferry Building. On the way we stopped over at the TCHO Chocolate factory for a Mocha (for my wife). Got to the Ferry Building and had a latte with an add shot at Blue Bottle. Then walked over to El Porteno and had two empanadas. One with mushrooms & shallots and the other with chard & gruyere. Then went over to Boccalone and got myself a Boccalone Combo sandwich. I always seem to get one when I'm in the building. Since my son isn't a sandwich guy we went over to Out The Door to get him a Five Spice Chicken & Vermicelli bowl. After taking the cable car home, we jumped in the car and went over to Bi-Rite for some ice cream. I had the salted caramel and honey lavender. It was OK. Not worth the line and parking hell.

Saturday: Went to Pizzeria Delfina in the Fillmore area before heading to the airport. Had the eggplant caponata, seasonal cherry tomato pizza, and the fennel sausage pizza. Fairly decent. At the airport I picked up a muffaleta sandwich for the plane. The Acme bread they used was good.

Quick trip and didn't get to go to any heavy hitter places since we mostly did kids' stuff but the food was still tasty. San Fran rules and thanks for the tips!

So glad you liked To Hyang. I'll have to try some of the places you'd mentioned. I've never been able to visit the Ferry Building without buying at least something from Boccalone.
